What is the progress update on Tinubu’s eight point agenda he promised Nigerians in 2023? This is over one year now. How far?

1. food security;
2. poverty eradication;
3. growth,
4. job creation;
5. access to capital;
6. inclusion;
7. rule of law; and
8. fighting corruption

The government's plan is to have all the medical professionals to put in at least 3 to 5 years of service in Nigeria before their certificate are released to those that one to seek greener pastures abroad. That way, we shall always have a pool to attend to our local needs.

This is just a reactionary move and a foolish one by the government.

The govt spends more than 20M per health worker subsidising their professional education. When they now become qualified, they run abroad.

I think they should drop the subsidy of the education of health workers and then introduce student loans for their education. Then, once qualified, they give them fantastic pay with the necessary tools to work. That way, they will pay back the education loan and they will be earning well and living well while at it.

You got the visa because you claimed you had a valid nursing certification. You can't get to UK and decide to change it. Your visa will be revoked because the embassy can't validate our claims, making your status illegal.

Not only did I read the story, I even researched what was alleged in the story before commenting to find out why the Nigerian government made Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria shutdown its portal.

Do you not think prolonging the verification from 2 weeks to six months is unnecessarily evil?

Some Nigerian nurses and midwives working in the United Kingdom and the United States have been forced back to Nigeria and left in distress by the abrupt shutdown of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria's (NMCN) verification portal in February by the Nigerian government.
