Kamala totally distracted him from whatever plan he may have had going into this debate. This was a strong showing for Kamala. Good points, but I think he fundamentally failed the Commander in Chief test tonight. You have to be able to see someone as President before you get to those questions. I'm slightly biased but I couldn't imagine him being President after tonight. Doesn't seem in control or in command of himself even.

That was my biggest fear going into this.
That she would pull a 2020 Biden (the first debate).
She didn't quite hit that level, although she gave it her best shot.

That said, Trump has a ceiling with debates.
Thankfully, he has a record and quick wit to fall back to.
The "I'm speaking. Does that sound familiar" line is a good example of that.

All he had to do was have an average performance and not be taken to the cleaners by her to stay in the race and he got that.
