Ogun state was indeed careless (under the former Gov Amosun), but they didn't borrow recklessly, they signed an agreement and disengaged the company without due process and the same company is claiming damages that's why assets were being seized.

A governor has N100b a year road budget and wants to build a transformative road worth N1trillion so he builds sections of the road worth N100b every year. Ignorant people clap for him and say you’ve done well my boy, you build roads without borrowing!

The problem here is that it will take forever for his state to be transformed because the beneficial effects of the road will not be truly felt till the road is completely finished. Plus the price of the road goes up every year with inflation, so the longer he take to complete the entire road the more it costs. This is the bane of most road/infrastructure projects in Nigeria.

A wise governor on the other hand has 100b a year income or road budget, leverages that income to borrow N1Trillion and builds the entire road in a year or 2 because he knows:

1) if he waits 10 years to build the at the rate of N100b a year, the cost of the roads will not remain at N1T likely it will take N2-3Teillion in the end and will likely never get completed.

2) he knows he has N100b a year he can commit to debt payments and building N1Trillion road now will increase his IGR to N200b once the roads are completed.

So a wise man borrows N1trillion, builds the roads that would ordinarily take 10 years to construct now, sees his IGR double to N200b after yr 1/2 as a result of the transformational effect of the N1Trillion road on the economy, sets aside N100b to service debt payments and now has extra N100b for other projects.


But hey what do I know, according to wisdom of the common man, debt is bad and the wiseman is foolish!

Soludo is heavily invested in propaganda , his projects are all moving at snails pace with no known completion dates.
He thinks that by hiring an army of online propagandist and praise singers is all he needs to dupe enough people to vote for him next year.
Dude is in his third year as governor but despite he making NL front page regularly we would struggle to name a significant project he has completed or any of his projects that is not progressing at snail's speed.

Please remove Peter Obi in that list when it comes to infrastructure. He simply lowered the bar and did not improve on the good work Ngige was already doing. He instead invested Anambra funds in his bank and was using Anambra money to make money for himself. I am from Umuchiana in Aguata, our roads are a complete mess during Obi and traffic everywhere from Agulu to Ekwulobia during festive periods.It was Obiano that tried even though not too much but he was way better than Peter Obi, and now Soludo solution is revolutionizing governance in Anambra with infrastructural revolution.

At least he was better than PO. He started things we can at least see. PO's online porpaganda is beyond me when he has nothing to show for his 8 years in office, and now trying to scam the whole country with I didn't borrow but left funds when in fact he invested the funds in his own bank and it was natural that since he didn't use the funds he will leave the funds for the new Governor. Please why is nobody asking Obi to tell us what he did with the interest on those funds?
