Adokakunle:No it will not. Nigerians should forget about cheap fuel. That era is gone. |

Fuel is currently sold over N1150/L is most filling stations across the country. The landing cost as we heard is roughly 1100/L. So, where is the subsidy? I believe the FG, through NNPCL has tactically removed subsidy while awaiting DR products. |

@worksmart Do you now believe what I said on Oct 8 2023? You can visit the thread again https://www.nairaland.com/7869429/pengassan-confirms-return-fuel-subsidy/6#126281154. Don't be surprise when another administration come and start talking about subsidy. Subsidy no dey finish in Nigeria.

Adokakunle:definitely NO, Price of fuel will always be determined by the value of the naira against the dollar and with price of crude oil in the international market. With the naira always on the downward trend, petrol price will always be going up |

gabbasin:That's an accurate take. However, total privatization & deregulation of the economy will lead to an increase in productivity AND thus strengthen the naira. It's not going to happen overnight, not in a decade, but it will happen. I emphasize TOTAL, as in ALL government owned companies need to be sold off, laws need to be passed prohibiting the federal government from setting ANY PRICE on anything anywhere in Nigeria, including forex. Total deregulation also means lifting all tariffs, bans and prohibitions on the importation of all legal goods and services. Total & Complete Free Market, no ifs, buts or any comma, just let everything go. Do the above and Nigeria will become more prosperous and developed than Portugal or Greece within one demographic generation, which is 25 years. Thanks. Good Luck to Nigeria. |

All these faceless associations without any refineries nor any office, are trying to lord it upon us. How many times will these fuel subsidies be removed? If our so called refineries are working and we had been giving foreign refineries Crude oli to refine and send to us, on a trade by barter basis. Why is it so difficult to do with our own home grown refineries? Something actually did not add up. |

99thEnemy:The FG had to intervene cos the international price of fuel is far above what we are getting it at. A South African told me a litre costs around 1900 Naira in SA. Not easy to rule this nation. Be damned if u do it and be equally damned if u don't! |
