Peter Obi caused all this. When the convention was held at Nnewi where Abure was re_elected , I had expected obi to dissociate himself from it.

Rather few days later Obi declared Abure as the national chairman and called for all aggrieved members to make peace.

Also Alex Otti should be blamed too for asking his Deputy to represent him.

They knew Abure tenure expired June 9th but none raised their voices during and after the Nnewi convention.

NLC fought Abure but Obi and Otti with others talking now stood by Abure.

Same thing NLC fought that Abure tenure is expired is what Obi and others are fighting now.

To be Frank it will be hard to remove Abure and his excess now. Only the court can do this.

I urge Obi and others to drag Abure to court or use the NLC to drag Abure to court, otherwise the crisis will continue.

This is not a time to bash obi or anyone, but a time to encourage them

A better Nigeria is all we want. Tinubu has disappeared many of us. The hardship is heavy. Fuel increasing day by day yet no action from Tinubu.

Same Obi who had rejected the convention and advised Abure to include all the stakeholders while conducting a proper ward congress before he will attend?

Even when abure and his conmen went ahead to hold the illegal convention,Obi and Otti still tried to make abure to see reason why the right things should be done by setting up a reconciliation committee to stop the infight between Abure and the NLC?

Obi and Otti really didn't want to get involved as there was an organ that was supposed to do such but when it was discovered that INEC had rejected Abure and with the possibility of disqualifying subsequent elections due to the illegality of LP national chairman,they constituted an interim committee to ensure the right thing is done!

There is nothing like dragging Abure to court because his tenure has expired as the BOT rightly said and since the regulatory body INEC have refused to recognize the leadership of abure as they didn't attend the said convention!
Next time get ur facts and stop misinforming the public!

Why I avoided LP convention in Anambra – Obi

Speaking at a discussion hosted by Parallel Facts on Saturday on X (formerly Twitter), Obi stated that he is more passionate about building “a new Nigeria” than building a new LP.

He expressed displeasure that the Julius Abure-led National Working Committee (NWC) ignored his advice to consult more following concerns raised by key stakeholders ahead of the convention.

“We promised to build Nigeria; we did not promise to build a New Labour Party. When the chairman approached me about the convention, I appealed to him to consult all stakeholders, starting from Governor (Alex) Otti, Vice Presidential Candidate (Yusuf) Datti, to Senators, House of Reps members, gubernatorial candidates, and all other groups, for us to have NLC, TUC,” Obi said.

It is documented for us to have a properly organized convention, starting with congresses, because we have to organize ourselves at the grassroots, where we have problems. It is after we organize ourselves that we can go into the convention,” he added.

Obi also noted that there was supposed to be a stakeholders’ meeting where positions would have been agreed upon to accommodate the various interests that make up the party, but that was not done.

He also explained why he has so far refrained from making public comments on allegations of financial impropriety against Abure.

“It is because we have written to a competent, qualified auditor to audit the accounts of the Labour Party and our campaign,” Obi said.
