The clip was chopped off. In the full video, he actually tells Nigerian women not to call the police. And now the police are dissociating from him because that's not what they represent.

From what I can tell cos I am Yoruba, this whole programme was about the youths crimes.

Of course, UK youths could be very violent, especially with knife crimes. And it is rather a common occurrence for it to lead to death.

The man was advocating d importance of having both parents in the lives of their children. He acknowledged the fact that women has an upper hand, n said even if you feel the man is not doing anything in the home, manage it, cos d man u feel is not doing anything might be the one who will prevent that same child from getting stabbed. Children raised by their only their mothers have a much higher chance of incarceration, drugs n teenage pregnancy. The research is everywhere, this is not a female bashing thing n d cop sees it everyday at work.

He didn't say manage an abusive husband.

But I understand we have brought our archaic definition of manage to mean to endure. Manage can also mean to keep a company or in this case, a family going within the resources available to you.

There was no place in that recording that he said women should endure or not report violence to police.

It's not my problem what anybody choose to do with their lives. I have met girls who don't want to marry or have a kid n I have no issue with it. In fact, I find them a lot better n I actively gravitate towards them cos they are usually clear headed, can take care of themselves, n importantly, they hold themselves accountable instead of blaming everybody else for their failures. Very little mental stress cos they don't start sulking at your every word.

And if this male-female madness should continue, we should advocate that male n female should just continue to fornicate non-stop, no wedding, no kids, no problems.

Have you actually read the post? The video is from years ago, and that individual was acting on their own initiative. No sensible police officer would suggest that a woman shouldn't report a matter to them.

If someone is being abusive, you have every right to contact the police, it's their job to sort out whether you're being abusive or not. This isn't Africa, where people seem to get away with everything. Learn to behave yourself and follow the law. You're not above the law.

He’s not a marriage or relationship counselor, he can’t give advice. He isn’t in Nigeria, he can’t tell women what isn’t important enough to call the police for.

If you are abroad as a man and your wife is in Nigeria, leave her there. If your children are with her, take them there but leave your wife in Nigeria. Come to see her as much as you can, let her enjoy nice trips around the world if you can afford it but don’t let her leave with you over there.
