I don't even consider myself super liberal. In fact most Democrats in the US would be considered moderate in many wealthier countries. The problem is the Right in the US has veered so far Right they're in Crazy land esp. with the Racism etc. etc.

Before the debate, there was a lot of chatter about what her goals were. Her main goal was to give off the impression that she could be President. She has the momentum, so not to make any major gaffes that would undercut that. And lastly give some policy themes. That's just understanding the politics of the moment. This was her first real showing to the American people. Of course her strategy was secret, but it's not really a secret.
There were tons of stories on it pre and post debate.

Yes, she dodged some questions. She dodged the 'better off' question and the 'abortion question'. Both she planned to. She knew both would be asked. Or a variation of those questions would be asked. And she had a pre scripted speech she gave instead of answering the question. It was planned that way. I think she could have had a good answer, it may have taken time to explain. But her and her team thought it better not to. It's the same way Trump planned not to answer the question on whether he would vote for an Abortion Ban. He planned not to answer it. I do like policy debates so I wish it was more policy centric. But, because of the double standard even you've employed, I'm ok with her not answering detailed questions if Trump isn't forced to.

If she did a 2nd debate, she would most likely have to get more into the details of Policy. But Trump ended that.
