Comparing apple to oranges lol. Comparing a settler colony to Nigeria is disingenuous. Show us where someone who was born in ibadan but from ondo , contested for any position in oyo. Osun people wont allow an ondo man come contest there. But the real Lagosians should keep quiet while people from kogi, ondo, ogun, benue, imo take their political positions. No no no. Fayose was born and bred in Ibadan, akeredolu was bred in ibadan and even has a law firm there but they has to go to their state of origin to run for office . Why not oyo state? 🥴 Tony Nwulu won house of rep in oshodi and use the money to go contest in his home state in south east. Senator Yayi represents lagos west then use his loot to go contest in ogun and also won . Which kind juju be that |

christejames:I think we need to set this straight because there is a lot of confusion. The area claimed by the Lagos indigenes is LAGOS COLONY or EKO which is the Lagos island excluding VI, Ikoyi, Lekki etc. Danfo drivers still call out Eko as a destination within Lagos. The areas such as Epe, Ikeja and Mushin, Yaba etc were later expropriated by the Federal Government from the old Western Region and then combined into the new Lagos state. The indigenes of the island are not the indigenes of the expanded and largerLagos. If the indigenes of Eko want an area to control, they should be asking for Lagos Island Council mayor not governor. I have also attached the population constituents of Lagos in 1891. This is the definitive position on the matter.

Doylestown92:So European now mean ethnic group? In your quest to defend nonsense, you still ended up shooting yourself in the foot, if all the people you mentioned are collectively Europeans and at such are entitled to rule America, then every Nigerians too is entitled to rule Lagos nah, because we're all collectively Nigerians 😂😂😂, You guys should try and grow beyond tribalism and stop all this nonsense talk. |

Doylestown92:You are the unintelligent one here, and I'm not surprised, you are probably one of the products of awo free education programs, how can you classify European as same as Yoruba, when did the European became one ethnic group? I'm done replying you Shaaa. |

babasolution:You are right any Nigerian or outsiders can rule Lagos, but you must have demonstrated you love Lagos and Yoruba people very well. Those that ruled america were not making noise or insulting Americans. They love America first even than their own people. Obama loved america first before he was allowed to rule and he was not making noise to show he hated america. However, Biafrans hate Yorubas so much and so full of self-center. They are convetous arrogant and like to abuse opportunity given to them. Because of this, Biafrans are not qualify to rule Lagos as those presidents that ruled and love America |

Ojiofor:Can someone from Enugu become a governor in Anambra state? Why is it that anything yoruba and lagos you people from that side always hyperventilate? To tell you how Liberal we are, yorubas from other states have ruled Lagos, can that ever happen in the east? Imagine people that still discriminates among themselves with Osu and all, having the effontery to try the divide and conquer tactics among Yorubas with stupid gaslighting and whataboutism, get that into your skull today that it will never work, not in this lifetime, we see ourselves as one now and forever, only thing the lots of you can do is cry till infinity, nonsense. |

JovialJune:Yes someone from Anambra state is the Mayor of Aba and another is elected house of assembly member in Abia state. There is no Yoruba nation what we have is Nigeria nation.Someone from Oyo state and someone from Enugu state have the same right in Lagos or any other state they might find themselves as Nigerians. Is Lagos the only state in southwest?I have not seen a non Ekiti person become governor in Ekiti state or non Oyo person become governor of Oyo state etc.. It is only Lagos you guys want to dominate at the exclusion of the indigenes and other Nigerians. |

Ojiofor:Next time inquire properly before spewing trash, Sanwo olu is from the Ijebu side of Lagos state, Ambode is from Epe in Lagos state, they are indigenes of Lagos, even at that, If not that you people are bunch of hate filled nonentity, why is the yorubas ideologies and way of life any of your concern? The only people that have right in Lagos are YORUBAS get that plastered into your head today? You know why? Because we all collectively see Lagos as our pride and joy, the indigenes have no problem with yorubas, it is you sadeast people trying to create division in futility, you don't have a right or say in anything south west, same way we don't even care what happens in south east or claim ownership of anything, because there is nothing to claim And yes other yorubas have been given positions in Osun, presently in Ekiti, and Ondo google is your friend, Akeredolu even gave an Igbo man councilorship in a local government but thank God he has been swiftly removed, We are Yoruba nation, and we will keep calling ourselves Yoruba nation, even if we decide to secede from Nigeria tomorrow we wouldn't go about it the way you loud mouth empty barrel people are doing yours while killing your people in the process, we will do it with wisdom, and the collective support of our leaders who would push our cause to the appropriate quarters, we will continue to be YORUBA NATION until the time is right, know this and know peace. |

babasolution:CALABAR was also a former capital of Nigeria before LAGOS, why not tell FG to sell and redistribute its investment there before setting your sights on Lagos? Also cleanse your mind from envy and bitterness of other people's state, LAGOS state existed before it became a capital, the indigenes are Aworis and Egun solely not Benin, Lagos is a south western Yoruba state. |
