Dear NL,
I recently got a job of 2.4m per annum but before joining I was informed via email that if I stay a year, I would be given a 20% salary increament.

Upon receipt of the offer letter the 20% increament was not stated, also no discussion of me working on public holidays but now I am asked to work on public holidays as according to the organization they run a mini-mart & they are a private organization. As I did not get the offer letter until 4 days of resumption.

I am yet to sign the offer letter, how do I respond to the MD via email as I know my services are needed.

Oga them go whine you for here o. Better take that job nothing wrong with working on public holidays knowing that it’s a mart and mostly holidays they even make more sales. Secondly the increment issues can be resolved when you resume work. Don’t start acting greedy from day one cause people here that will advice against the job will gladly take a pay cut to fill in the same role.

We have 31 public holidays this year alone. This is something you can discuss unofficially so as to make you MD agree to your terms. Be diplomatic about it as there are no Jon out there.
