The zones with the highest number of sick people are leading.

It's not about numbers, it's about capacity.

A hospital with capacity to carter for 500 patients is still 1 functional facility, same as one that can only take care of 80 patients.

I guess the disparity between the number of facilities and healthcare ratings in other regions has to do with land density. For each square mile, SE has more facilities than every other zone. Plus, the SE leads in female education in the country, so more education, more access to the health facilities.

It is when you arrive at one of these "functional health facilities" that you will realize that what you read online is different from what is on ground. Although some states are improving, some are totally trash in terms of primary healthcare.

95% of the number of those functional health facilities in the SW are situated in Lagos. If you remove Lagos. The SW would be the worse zone in Nigeria.
