TY Danjuma Challenges Military To Tackle Insecurity by iwaeda(op): 9:21pm On Sep 17, 2024
Former Chief of Army Staff. General Theophilus Danjuma (retd), has urged serving personnel to put an end to the killings across the country as soon as possible.

He emphasised that the military has no excuses for not restoring peace in the many troubled areas of the nation.

Danjuma made these remarks at the launch of a book titled Big Boots: Lessons from My Military Service by Major General Solomon Udounwa (retd) in Abuja on Tuesday.

The former Chief of Army Staff, lamenting that insecurity remains the country’s greatest challenge, stressed that it must be addressed.

He said, “The number one problem today is security. We must end the violence and stop the killings happening in our country as soon as possible. Those of you who are still serving have no excuses. None.”

In response, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, stated that the military is well-positioned and working tirelessly to restore peace nationwide.

Musa further assured that the armed forces would continue to uphold the values of service, integrity, and honour, which are key to military tradition.

He said, “Let me also assure our distinguished chairman that the armed forces of Nigeria are prepared, willing, dedicated, and committed to ensuring we restore peace and security in our dear country.

“We shall not be deterred. Yes, there will be challenges, but that’s why we are here. I want to assure you that we have learned a lot from your record as very distinguished senior officers who have guided us over the years. We cannot afford to fail, and we will not fail.”

What you don't know is that ending insecurity is in the hands of the sponsors of terrorists and bandits who are who are already well placed politicians. Are you saying soldiers are finding it difficult to deal with these common criminals? What if it is external aggressions? Nigerian Army will fight criminals with clearance from the top

Who made it so?
Who brought in Boko Haram into Nigeria- the Northern Muslims were thinking of how to destabilise Nigeria, when OBJ was in power,he dicisively dealt with their leaders and many Politicians ( including Governors) in the North, were not happy because they were using the Footsoldiers as a defensive weapons, even against the Southerners in Power.e g against GEJ and was wrongly accused of Insecurity, bla, bla ,just to end that govt.
Today,Nigerians don give a damn- who brought InSecurity to Nigeria- Terrorists, Kidnappers, Bandits, when their leaders like Gumi- were asking for Negotiations and on what basis?
Baba Danjuma, you are now an Oil Magnate and those Cash-Cow oil business -is from the Niger- Delta , even the place is yet to be at Peace and is part of Insecurity in Nigeria too!

That is not entirely true sir. TY Danjuma is an honest businessman. He has stakes in different companies and never have I seen him exact his political influence to enrich his pocket (to the best of my knowledge) regarding any of his holdings. I have worked for him so I know a little about him sir. Cheers

......thank you, the major reason why the killings wont stop is because the sponsors are embedded in senior positions in government, military, defense contractors.

Boko haram, ISWAP, fulani jihadists etc have the backing of the "powers that be" outside of Nigeria and sympathizers at the grass root level.
