This is a game changer only it's more expensive

ariesbull:
Its cheaper

To drive from Awka to Lagos will cost you fuel not less than 80,000 full tank...you can buy more but this is the metric at the rate of 1,200

Then there is no way he will charge the car for six hours and pay an electricity bill of 20,000

It's cheaper trust me ! EV cars are cheaper

If I have money ,I will go for it and avoid all these

Change oil
Change gear oil
Change brake oil
Change axle oil
Service engine
Service gear
Service steering rack
Fix stabilisers linkage

You will avoid lots of grease and wahala
just typing rubbish without reading

U get 38 million?

One more thing though, there is no way that speed is 120km/hr, not on that road at least. At 120km/hr no driver can afford to be distracted as reaction time is very short.
Depends on the road. If na express and the road smooth, that's no speed at all. grin

Haven't watched the clip tho.

A full charge taking you 350 km is quite substantial.

I'm not sure how much power, cost wise, is used to charge the battery for the 6hr required for max charging, but it must be significantly lower than the cost of buying fuel for the same distance. So it's an impressive feat, and would certainly make sense in the Nigeria market.

Though normally, electric cars are notoriously more expensive than petrol cars, and one can argue that the cost of buying the fuel would have been factored into the cost of the car. However, in Nigeria where the cost of fuel is increasing in arimethemetic (or even geometric) proportion, electric cars may simply be the way to go.

Good one Innoson.
Better for people using direct, they have nothing to worry about cost effective since NEPA charges is manual 🤞

For Prepaid people like me, I'll like to how much it costs to charge it from 0-100, otherwise nah to drive to a friend place who's using a direct meter.

Regardless, there's no way it won't be cost effective than PMS.

Actually that 350km range may depend on the average power demand or simply put how fast one travels on average.

Any speeds beyond 100km/h at a constant average rate, will significantly reduce that 350km range to even 250km.

Then again the regen braking efficiency of the car needs to be taken into account. So as to evaluate energy management.

The weight of the car and volume of traffic per km travelled also need to be taken account.

And of course thermal situation of the battery during various weather conditions.

Bro that's the kind of math one needs to apply the moment EV's range is being stated. Because stated range is not always equal to actual driving range.

You are totally spot on! However, in countries like China, the cost of buying a petrol car is 3x the cost of buying an EV. Hence, encouraging the quick adoption of EVs.

We have proper EV weather here all through the year. The thermal point above won't count because winter isn't coming wink
