Lol. His name is not obagoal for nothing.

Martin’s shadow was a better footballer than emenike. I have no recollection of any highlight moments from emenike’s career aside the afcon 2013. Good player but largely forgettable. Won the afcon but it is not a trophy counting exercise. If that is the case, then fegor ogude > seyi olofinjana..
Martins moment I can't forget was he goal against ac Milan where he turned was it Maldini can't recall the defender. But for SE emenike has more memorable moments.

Just say you forgot the player and you personally adore martins.

Emenike apart from winning Afcon also won the golden boot at that competition. Yes his goals was that key. Can’t remember whatever martins did at Afcon. We can’t continue to use epl or European leagues to judge our players alone without their immense contributions to our profile as a soccer nation.
that one dey. Really Martins wasn't explosive for SE. There was hardly a time Martins secure that top9 position.

His inability to show remorse for the missed goal was what really broke Nigerians hearts .Rather he stood with a smile on his face and chewing a gum while looking at the big screen to make sure the whole world is seeing him... 😂😂
There were Goliaths in that team...they wont play, they won’t allow others to play. To bench someone like Osazie, a young Nigerian who is passionate about the game, mentality balanced and active guy that could change the course of the game, is an evidence to this claim. How could Kanu start a crucial match like that? Lagerback was a puppet. he doesnt have the credibility to be called a coach.
why Kanu was even selected for that tournament still baffles me till date. This was his rating that day and his only appearance in that competition.

Plus the comparison is rather baseless, Obafemi had a solid head-start to his career in Europe when he moved to Italy at 16 years of age and came through the ranks of Inter Milan. Emenike was one of those random players who was discovered while playing his football in Turkey in his mid twenties and wasn't even a Super Eagles player up until he got a late call up to international football in 2011.

Obagoal was clearly the more talented player and had an overall better career, but Emenike scored more vital and clutch goals for us WHEN IT REALLY MATTERED (Afcon win and WCQs).
You know why we still feel the 94 eagles set were the best ever? It’s because we didn’t have access to watch European leagues back then like we have been doing from the mid 2000s so we strictly judged them based on their national team performance cos that was more relevant to us meanwhile that particular set had just very few players doing so well at club level but who cares then what you do for your club if you didn’t deliver for the national team.

All these anti-oshimen peeps should take a chill, if he can't score, others will and that's why it's a team game.
What have you used to judge Osimhen so far? Is it his goals against bums like CAR, Lesotho , São Tomé and Liberia? Or was it by scoring against those carpenters that made him win the afcon player of the year? Or what impact does he have in the all the afcons he has participated in so far?

Ilenekhana scores.

It’s high time super eagles handlers shun unproductive forwards like iheanacho,Awo,Sadiq,Onuachu etc and give this kid a chance

That was the first match I watched Martins. I think it was his champions League debut. I got to see him after all the hype and yes, it was Maldini he beat to score.

they hv to reach out to him first. You can’t assume such sitting in your house

Until there's more stability in the Eagles' setup, we have to manage our expectations. We can't continue to change coaches like diapers and expect every Nigerian-born kid anywhere to play for us. We need to put our house in order, and these kids will even be the ones eager to play for us. If we can consistently qualify for the World Cup and I think we can like Cameroon does, these kids will be dying to play for us.

good point made but still there is nothing wrong with reaching out to the boy first

The team wasn’t stable when the duo of lookman and fisayo agreed to play for us

In Barca match penalty was upturn after VAR review but the wrong yellow card not recalled. Is that correct?

One of the reasons I will always appreciate Lookman. But let's not forget that if England had not snubbed him at the senior level, would he have bothered? takes me back to what Mikel said about such players. Every case looks different though for each player like who influences who (Iwobi) and other factors. I do think if we can manage what we do have currently, we should be attracting more than ever before. Again does the NFF even have such an arrangement or setup to reach such players?

Go and rewatch that game trust me I have a photographic memory. Kanu, odiah and kalu were the best players on that day. Kanu even on his last legs displayed calmness, technique and intelligence than the other players while the likes of obasi, martins, obinna and yakubu kept on eating easy chances. Also, based on kanu performance vs korea, I would had started him in the previous games
