Are you aware of the current price of fuel, an alternative route means longer distance. Meaning the driver would consume more fuel and more money, thus reducing the driver's income.

To the driver, paying bribe to the taskforce is more costly than losing a tyre.
Hence his choice.

It doesn't matter how much a truck tyre cost.

The useless taskforce doesn't know how much diesel the truck consume to get there, they don't know how much they spent on the road fixing the truck to make sure the products get there, they don't know how much it costs to buy a tyre, and they just act as they like. Sometimes, I wish they get runover because of their wickedness.
