The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has emphasised the need to maintain national unity and indivisibility of the Nation as the nation marks her 64th independence anniversary.

Represented by the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration, Pastor Oladele Balogun, the cleric spoke yesterday in Lagos during a press conference titled, “Special Independence Day Prayer and Celebration Service,” heralding the Independence Day Service on October 6, 2024.

The service is scheduled to hold on October 6, 2024.


Adeboye said, “As we prepare to celebrate our independence, we must reaffirm our commitment to national unity and cohesion. We need to consciously recognise that our diversity is our strength, and our differences are what make us unique. We must therefore continue to work together, hand in hand, to build a brighter future for all.”

“No matter how innovative a recovery plan may be, be it locally conceived or globally prescribed, only God, the Almighty, can bring about transformational turn around.

“The state of the nation as well as prevailing global economy is quite challenging but with God all things are possible, hence, our confidence that through divine wisdom, God is able to turn around the seemingly hopeless situation into a glorious phenomenon.”

Since I was born till this moment, we've been told to pray. We keep praying and even embarking on dry fasting for the betterment of Nigeria, but such prayers have remained impotent and never yielded any desired results. Sadly the situation has grown increasingly worse.
Nigeria doesn't need prayers to get better. We the citizens are disintegrated and not in One Accord. Until we unite to fight our common enemies and show them that we are more powerful than they are, we'll forever remain the way we are.

Honestly I can't really say. There are lots we can do to come together and fight these enemies. I wish we could chat privately about this

Prayers don't end hardship.

When a member needs help he's told to pray. Sometimes the other members will join him in prayer to increase his faith so that he can receive help from above.
But when the pastor or imam needs help, they tell the members, who then "willingly" donate funds to solve the problems of their shepherds. The shepherd doesn't have to depend on help from above.
