A bad toks engine is easy to spot.look at the valves area,where they have the exhaust holes..if its less soothe and brown,good. If its pure black and oily run oh. If its so so shiny and silver..run oh. They have already used ba3 water and silver spray to respray and clean it. To find a good toks engine,is directly from the container.

Its pretty easy.look at the exhaust valves area,plugs ,will tel u the condition of the engine.even the oil inside it sef

No mind him. He's only talking from what he knows. You never jam equally corrupt sellers or engine that has that brown clean combustion but has some internal issues

Inner shaft cup might be worn out,Buy new shaft instead dont buy tokunbo ohh if not you fit do am again in less than some weeks.
Bad engine mount might cause the vibration too.
Let a good technician test drive the car.

Coolant is Genuine Toyota Coolant, you need 2gallons of premixed 50/50.
Transmission fluid is Genuine toyota long life automatic Transmission fluid type WS.

Your inner cv joint may be worn out. Have a mechanic check it. Do NOT buy couple or inner cup, but buy complete shaft brand new OEM or tokunbo.

My 2003 Accord loses power while driving (the car goes off) I have to turn off the ignition and restart the car to continue. Things I noticed:
1. Before it goes off, the RPM starts dropping till it goes off even if I continue pressing on the throttle.
2. Sometimes when it starts dropping and I let go of the pedal, it picks up and normalize for some distance.
3. It's worse when the fuel is below the half tank or lower.
4. Often happens when I go up or down a slope, sometimes it just happens on flat roads.
5. Codes are P0135 and P0141

P0420 ans P0430 are catalytic converter below threshold codes. You may replace with tokumbo catalytic converter or install a spacer.

The codes you have are O2 and AF sensors codes. Check wires and ECU too to. E sure. If all I'd fine, replace the sensors and observe.

Does anyone know much about car tracking. I bought my car last year October 4th, today I received a message from the guy that did , the tracking for me telling me , that tracking would expire on the 4th of October. I ask him what next he told me I need to do a renewal, I ask him how much is the renewal? He told me # 31,500, I was like how much to install a new tracker , he said 120k with app without app s90k , I was like that’s fucking expensive . A friend told me to buy a new SIM card registered it and changed the sim in the device that with that the guy wouldn’t have any connections with tracking device .

I need your advice. So I'm a lady and when I wanted to get my Lexus in 2021, I did extensive research on a honest mechanic as I have been on Nairaland since 2012. I found a mechy here on Nairaland. A lovely human being. I have recently learnt that he is no more. I don cry tire because this man made my life so easy. He has gone to a better place.

I never give my car to anyone but him. He would always confirm what was intact or needed replacement.

I couldnt get his services in March and went to a mechanic in Magodo, that was the only time my car spent time in another autoshop.

This July, I went to my former Honest Mechy's Garage as his wife said it was fine but he was incapacitated then, his boys attended to me. I noticed that his boys took over 7 hours to fix brake pads and servicing. I had many lights on my dashboard before taking it to them. When I got the car back, the lights had gone but they all came back the next day. (Vsc, Afs, check engine, skid or so and more).


Fast forward to this September, the legs of the car was making some noises and the check engine light still there, took it to my estate mechanic, that one changed shock absorber but the noise persisted. Took it back to him, he said it was linkage, he changed it. Then said I should do wheel alignment but I decided to go back to the Magodo mechy.

Yesterday, the Magodo mech said it was my car hub and a dispense error didnt let him fix it as he didnt see my payment. When I went to pick the car, this Magodo one told me my CATALYST WAS MISSING that it had recently been removed and the person that did it was such an expert that they used mud and sand to cover up the bolts.

I am miffed Oloun. I am so pissed because I pay for what these men demand.

So now, i'm at a diagnostics center to know the full details of errors and absence of parts.

Those who have touched the car after my Mechanic was busy then indisposed:

1. MARCH 2024 - Magodo Mechanic : Fixed gasket, Problem with water in radiator going down and touched engine. Spent time with the car.

2. JULY 2024 - Dearly departed mechanic's boys (: Spent 7 hours for servicing and brake pads) Their boss would do just about 4 hours for more extensive work and the car would be like new.

3. SEPTEMBER 2024 - Estate mechanic fixed shock absorber and linkage because of car leg noises but no real solution. Car leg is still releasing albums.

4. SEPTEMBER 2024- Magodo Mechanic again - Tried to fix car leg and noticed Catalyst has been stolen. Insists it is a recent job and I need to take quick action.

4. PANEL BEATER - This one touches up my car whenever there is body work issue or minor stuff. He does not do much but I hear that they are culpable as well. He is presently with me at the diagnostic shop and got quite a bit defensive after I mentioned problems with the car and he is among the infamous 4 people that I have left the car with. He also said the catalyst is still intact as the bolts look old. I dont believe him.


I am not good at suspecting people, I hate it because I myself am very trustworthy and always pray to God that I only encounter similar people but it is what it is. I am tired. It may be difficult to ascertain who the culprit could be from all the stupid love letter I have written here.

I will follow up with result from the diagnostics but please help me with what you think may have happened.

The unfortunate act was committed between March and September and these are the only people I have allowed to touch the car, funny enough to avoid issues like this.

Please help as one cannot be thinking of buying car in this economy. I pay these mechys what they ask, I dont even price thinking God will use them. I have spent soooo much and still spending as we speak.

I have attached a picture of my car as it is right now at the diagnostics shop.

I found my wonderful mechanic here on Nairaland and I know that the good people here can help me out.

For the past 3weeks my mazda protege 2000 has refused to start, when i took the first rewire there, he discovered the car is not shocking, he said it was the shocking sensor which i got another one and fixed inside, yet it won't start, i felt the first rewire was incompetent and i took another rewire there, he said the brainbox(ECU) is faulty, we went to ladipo to get another brainbox, which eventually works well, the car shocks well and fuel pump starts working without passing wire directly for it, but yet it won't start, the rewire told me to called on to a mechanic that i should check the timing belt maybe it has jumped or rippled, i called my mechanic he checked the timing belt and noticed the timing belt adjuster is bad, we got another one yet it won't start, please i really need help and advice from people that has had similar problems with car before, Gurus in the house please help me.

Vehicle needs 3 things to start, SPARK, AIR and FUEL if the three checks out, scan the vehicle first it will point you in the right direction

An oxygen sensor spacer is a device that is placed between the exhaust manifold or catalytic converter and the oxygen sensor.
You can easily buy it on eBay or Amazon
The function is to fool the ECU about air/fuel ratio.

Can one buy brand new catalyst ( China ) for eod? Will it work like normal catalyst does? Or has the spacer to sell. I'm not used to ordering things from Amazon or ebay.

U can find it in ladipo(Spencer)

Go to jumia and order it, I got mine there and for 2 years now that code is yet to return.
