What are you talking about? If the security agencies are not even aware when billions are being stolen and they have to wait till the entire public is aware before they know money is being stolen, then something is very wrong. Our security agencies should be one step ahead of the public and not the other way round

EFCC spokesman has spoken by saying that EFCC MIGHT NOT BE AWARE. Shame on all who support evil intentions of this government. A country under a great curse been supported like the person above.

They finally decided to review the budget of FCC Oji River after my numerous shouts about the school. When it comes to constituency and zonal intervention projects, FCC, Oji River in Enugu state is the king. This year, they have a budget of over N100billion for constituency projects alone. By the time we add zonal intervention, they should be close to N110billion.

And I can see a lot of uninformed response already. The budget you all are crying about were inserted by lawmakers majorly from south east and south south. Hold them to account. This has nothing to do with Mr. President.

It's up to your security agencies to apply the very same methods BudgIT applies to get info. Trust me, they have more access to documents and information than you and I. We shouldn't excuse them.

BudgIT, SERAP and the rest of the civil society watchdog collective (and they are not perfect by any means) have been beating the gong loudly for a while now.

But Nigerians are still deeply asleep.

There is a 500 plus page thread on this platform about how and why Nigeria is better than Kenya...or how and why Nigeria is better than South Africa. Or some other nonsense like that. That's the sort of thread where Nigerians breathe fire and actually get up to prove their 'superiority' offline - with complaints to their leaders about some real or imagined slight by all these 'small', 'small' African countries. But Nigerians will never act on the important stuff that builds institutions and actually strengthens their country in a real sense.

These so called 'constituency projects' are nothing but a giant slush fund for lawmakers...just like the so called 'security vote' is nothing but a slush fund for the executive. And the people look on...and say and do nothing.

There will soon be another consitutional conference (or whatever name they want to call the next jamboree) of some sort where public money will be unconscionably wasted...and yet the aspects of our laws that need urgent repeal or amendment (25 years after the dawn of the Fourth Republic) remain unchanged.

But all this doesn't matter...because Nigeria is "better" than Kenya, South Africa and all the other 'mushroom' countries of the continent put together.
