Hello everyone. Please I need your comments on this issue: Is family planning sin against the Creator? Also, is pouring away your sperm instead of into the woman sin against the Lord our God? Genesis 38:9-10 "And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. And the thing which he did displeased the Lord: wherefore he slew him also".

fetcher36:i believe it is. However, i believe that because the world is full of evil then we have the defense of reasonable neccessity. Judah's son's crimes can be pinned to the fact that they simply did not want their brother remebered. They wanted his house closed forever and most likely thought of inheriting his properties as many still do today, since his line is closed. And these evils are enough for God to punish them. |

fetcher36:God's will for our planet is for people to fill all the corners of the earth {Genesis 1:26-28} so once the earth is filled with people His will regarding sexual reproduction among humans has been fulfilled but one thing is missing: there is hatred and killings among humans on this planet this isn't bringing glory to God who created us in His image so we need enlightenment on how to cohabit peacefully as children of One father and God {Matthew 23:10} that's the reason Jesus preached and taught people to love God and their neighbors {Mark 12:29-31} with this teaching from the Prince of Peace {Isaiah 9:6} we can make One big and happy family of peace loving worshipers {Isaiah 2:4} and it will be as if we are all speaking the same language! Zephaniah 3:9 As for the son of Judah who kept pouring away his sperm he proved to be a wicked man that's why God killed him he didn't want to support God's purpose regarding the lineage of Christ. Today Christians are no longer getting married because of childbirth rather our marriage is to help us prevent fornication and adultery among believers {1 Corinthians 7:1-2} when people think God is still interested in couples having children it’s no more a compulsion in Christianity so we can marry and go for family planning with the aim of not bearing children at all. |

Planning is a good habit which every believer which cultivate. Planning is important in every area of our lives, our time, energy, resources, relationships , family and so on. Faith is not against facts. Our situations and circumstances differs so you must plan based on what is available and obtainable for you. Bible encourages wise planning, Prov.24.3 - Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], [amp] For the passage you quoted, someone has explained it well above. It is the selfishness and wickedness motive of the fellow that the Lord condemned here. There are some that may not want to have more children due to financial or health genuine reasons at a particular time why there maybe others who may need to be taking care of other children by reasons of God blessings in their lives. |

Don't rely on an ancient book with outdated ideas, you'll sound sťupid. |

fetcher36:Did Onan say anywhere in there that this family planning was his goa and the contract he entered into with the womanl? He took his brother's wife in contract to have a child with her in his dead brother's place. if he was not interested in having a child at all, he could have maybe passed the woman on to another relative. But no, he used her for his own pleasure and you conveniently suggest it was family planning...how? ![]() |

LordReed:Sounding stopid is not one way, those who don't believe in ancient books have always sounded stopid to the majority for millennials, right? So, the point is, who do you sound stopid to? |

fetcher36:No, family planning is not a sin. God wants us to plan our lives. Action, thought, motive, and attitude are ALL different things. God judges each one. We only see some action and maybe some attitude. |

| Re: Is Family Planning A Sin? by Image123(m): 6:37am On Oct 03, 2024 |
LordReed:When it's in the religion section, it's never ancient or outdated to rely on, and use ancient books. It's normal. We believe that our lives and eternity depend on it, remember. |

Image123:LoLz. The OP is talking about family planning methods, that is not religion. |
| Re: Is Family Planning A Sin? by Image123(m): 9:42am On Oct 03, 2024 |
LordReed:Religion is all encompassing. The OP put it in the religion section, not the family section. He even put up a Bible verse, showing that he's seeking for answers from a religious viewpoint. |

AntiChristian:You can multiply and plan. It's not mutually exclusive. Preparation and planning are very significant parts of a Christian's life. Wisdom is profitable to direct. |

Image123:Hence my remark. The ancient book offers nothing in this regard given what we know now. Is condom use going to be condemned because some ancient fairy tale says a god kills people who don't want to impregnate their late brother's wife? Only a stupid person would think so. |
| Re: Is Family Planning A Sin? by Image123(m): 12:47pm On Oct 03, 2024 |
LordReed:From a religious and Christian viewpoint, doctrines are not made from one random verse or passage, but established in the mouth of two or more witnesses. The scriptures also engages man to make sure to get wisdom and understanding, prepare for your family and make it fit for you, and be better than an unbeliever in providing for your family. These and many more clearly teach and instruct planning, and being thoughtful. Most of the family planning methods didn't come from hell either, but are developed by people that equally fear and believe in God. Most hospitals, medical practitioners and doctors in Nigeria pray and believe in God. They are the ones teaching family planning the most. It's also taught in churches. All these can't be called nothing. |

Image123:After berating someone for not believing in your retarded ancient book, u turn around and decided not to believe in the same ancient book. The bible clearly stated Yahweh was mad about Er for wasting his sperm and Yahweh even commanded us to multiply. Did you see any family planning posts in the Bible? |
