sHarmony:Hi sHarmony, I’m sorry for being silent, not being in this space. Have you sorted it all now? |

bcd12a:🤠 1. If you have received the activation email, and your AVITS dashboard presently displays " Pending Appointment " Then, the embassy has worked on your old MRV. All you need do is to log in once in a day by clicking on the pending appointment. Your pending appointment will display calendar when the embassy are ready for you. 2. Raise another ticket with your Form-I 20. SEVIS fee payment receipt , and MRV. Restart your computer or browsing gadgets. Log out of Avits and Log in again. It can also be the USA embassy delaying tactics, especially for Lagos. We need patience. 🙏 |

bcd12a:🤠 1. That UPDATE is patience. Log in once in a day and click on pending appointment. That's all. Go and queue. And your resumption should be Spring 2025 if i guess right ? You still have plenty of time. 🙏 |

kharemorgan:🤠 1. You must find the means to balance the remaining 21k, otherwise, if the consular asked for your POF, and he or she saw the deficit, that means you have failed in POF score. Mind you , if asked, the USA embassy now verify all bank statements. 2. Although, using MPOWER loan, as a POF bail out instead of scholarship or sponsor's fund is a bad omen in securing F1 VISA, nonetheless, if you can prove repayment sources beyond all doubts , and especially, if you are an outstanding scholar, a USA consular officer, being a human being, may admire your academic prowess and decide to help you in achieving your goals. A USA consular officer, being giving the autonomy of VISA-DECISION, can use emotion (ie likeness or hatred), or personal judgement in deciding your VISA outcome. 3. Even, your would-be consular officer cannot authoritatively predict the possibility of getting your VISA approved, even if he or she is your relative, and some of the reasons for this are that ; your interview activities are being Videotaped (with supervisor (s) standby), and every consular officer must follow the VISA qualification requirements in order to grant it, thus, a consular officer can change his or her original intention , in the middle of your interview. 🙏 |

Good morning. Please does anyone know how much is the F-1visa application fee. I was in GTBANK today, but they've stopped accepting the payment. They direct me to first bank, the lady I met there said I have to generate an MRV code. Please how do I get the code? Help. |

Obueze:🤠 1. As at September,2024, the MRV (VISA application) fee was N296,000. 2. Visit this website ; https://www.usvisaappt.com/visaapplicantui/login * Sign up, * Chose location (Abuja/Lagos), * Chose payment method, * If paying by bank deposit , you will generate the payment teller or code (you have 3-days to make the payment after chosen payment option) , and that's what you will take to 1stBanK. 🙏 |

Hi all, I finished with a 3.52 CGPA in using Nigerian rating in Pharmacy. And that's just an average CGPA to be honest. I intend to apply for fully funded PhD scholarships but I reckon BSc to PhD scholarships by skipping MSc is usually for folks who have incredible BSc CGPA and not an average 3.52 This factor is a huge discouragement. As I don't necessarily want to waste my time further, already applied to about 2 last year and inquired about 7 still same last year without ANY positive result. Secondly, my second fear is cost of processing DS 160, F1 visa booking, and any other document that may require USD ($). I learnt they may run into 500k Naira, which I have not because I only finisher from school last year under this economy and currently a corp member after I had finished my compulsory one year internship. So to summarise, my major worries are about chances of winning fully funded scholarship with 3.52 CGPA in Pharmacy, secondly, how to go about spending literally 500k plus in Naira just to do interview, which 86% fail out of. Guys what are your advice? My second alternative would be to go for Canadian Express Entry as I studied Pharmacy, below 30 years of age and just got a state sponsored scholarship to do masters in Pharmacy at Enugu State. So I got advise to complete the Msc program and get a Canadian EE, and I can go to US from there as I'll have a better funding by then. Which is of course can not be compared with a US. OyotunjiUSA please advice |

Thanks a lot🙏🙏🙏. I sincerely appreciate this. Please sir, I would need a step by step guidelines on how to apply and obtain my F1 VISA after obtaining my I-20. Thank you OyoTunjiUSA: |

Ebubu2:Hey 🤠 1. If i were in your position, even with a PhD scholarship guaranteed in America, my best pick would be "The State Sponsored (MSc in Pharmacy) Scholarship at ESUT. It has greater advantages you cannot see right now. Best Wishes 🙏 |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Ebubu2: 4:44pm On Oct 04, 2024 |
OyoTunjiUSA:Is someone really choosing an ESUT state government sponsored scholarship over a US PhD full funded scholarship if I were to get one? Can you elaborate more why so I'll be on same stage as you? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 4:56pm On Oct 04, 2024 |
Ebubu2:🤠 1. No. I won't elaborate further, because it is a topic of dispute and interest. But, i believe you wrote part-4 undergraduate project while in the University (and defended it), therefore, i put it to you as a research answer. Go and develop on it. Meanwhile, read others opinions too. Don't rely on OyotunjiUSA. State scholarship is my honest pick, and i am out of this trailer. 🙏 |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Shueld06: 5:56pm On Oct 04, 2024 |
Ebubu2:How did you win a state government MSc scholarship? Well, it depends actually. Will you be given a lecturing appointment upon finishing your MSc? Your credentials can be a solid point to apply for PhD program abroad (Europe or USA or Canada). If you have a solid MSc, it can open many opportunities— your school can retain you, u can decide to travel out for PhD etc . OyoTunjiUSA might have a point in that having a MSc can give u opportunity to apply for a PhD program and get offers since you have already tried with your BSc |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Ebubu2: 6:29pm On Oct 04, 2024 |
Shueld06:I won the scholarship based on an exam granted by the state government of Ebonyi for fresh graduate Pharmacists. I applied, sat for the exam, passed it, and was awarded a fully funded MSc scholarship to attend at ESUT, in Enugu State with living stipends in Naira of course. The plan by the government is to work for the state government of Ebonyi at the successful end of my Msc in Pharmacy program. However I must add I was very reluctant when the caveat was added on my scholarship letter. I don't know in what capacity yet that I am to work for them; whether as a lecturer or some sort of civil service job. I was hoping it would be a "study and go" scholarship, never imagined I'd have to work in return for the government because honestly I'm not enjoying this country. I'll listen to Tunji's advice, I'll finish the MSc in Pharmacy which I just commenced last September, then by God's grace, I'll obtain a Distinction and some research publications at the end of the MSc, then aim for a PhD scholarship in USA with a revamped CV containing research publications and the Distinction in MSc. If I still don't get the scholarship or visa was not approved then I'll go for the Canadian Express Entry. Thanks a lot to you both (Tunji and youself). God bless all of you going for Visa interviews. |

Ebubu2:Congratulations and glad to read you finished your program. Congratulations on your scholarship as well. To me, it gives you an opportunity not to rush the admission to the US. This is admission time for Fall, 2025; you can do a good search for a program of choice. Why are you restricted to only a PhD in Pharmacy? What is your plan after the program? Do you intend to lecture/research or you would like to practice? I think your answer to the last question can be a starting point to guiding you on how best to go about it. |

Please i want to ask if i will be able to schedule appointment without submitting my DS 160 form. The school has not processed my i20 yet |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 9:16am On Oct 05, 2024 |
VICTORBROWNZ:🤠 1. Why do you want to start the F1 VISA application as an incomplete applicant ? Later, you will say " My AVITS profile is on Pending Approval " for the past 3 - weeks. 2. A complete F1 VISA applicant is one , who " Has received and date-signed Form I-20. Has paid VISA fee (MRV), and Has paid SEVIS fee. PS: F1 VISA applicants, as described in sense -2 above will usually be granted appointments prior to their school resumption, at worst , you will apply for expedite (emergency ) appointment. PS: If you want to proceed by all means , then initiate the DS-160 application and save it for the future, and use the ds-160 code to request for your appointment. But, how will you upload the Form -I20 you have not received , as a requirement in requesting for F1 VISA interview appointment? 🙏 |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Ebubu2: 9:32am On Oct 05, 2024 |
GboyegaD:Thank you for your kind wishes. I'm filled with gratitude to you. I am restricted to PhD because it is the program that comes out on top in terms of full funding with living stipends called Teaching or Research Assistantships. Many Msc programs are not funded, or they would be partly funded, and I don't have the resources or network to complete the full funding. So I rely on PhD programs which largely come with full funding, but tough to get from a BSc if you didn't have a first class anyway, which I actually didn't. My plan after the program would be to contribute to research in any of the Big Pharma's located in the US. Since this is a safe space devoid of any VO presence (if I am correct), a Pharmacy practice wouldn't be existentially bad if I am not satisfied with the working environment at a research company. But that would mean me writing professional licensure exams and doing hours of internship, which I wouldn't mind. However, the former remains the initial plan. |

Ebubu2:Since u said you started your MSc last september, kuku finish am. But since d state government said you must work for them, hope they won't direct d school not to issue your transcript after graduation? With no transcript, you can't make any application. Cos let's b fair, u saw d contact before u signed it. For US, u need more than 500k now. 300k for visa fee plus 600k ($350) for sevis, n that's 900k. You would also pay application fee to the school, let's say $75 per school. Could also write English exams. But d good thing is that if u get admission n funding, you will find a way to get that 900k. Keyword there is "IF" Canada Express entry is largely IMPOSSIBLE. Do your own research. Even if you have a PhD, plus 3 years experience plus being under 30, you won't make d general draw. You have a chance with But if you learn French really well, you will get in even with your BSC. But this will also involve some costs. Intensive learning for 12 to 18 months. $200 for WES evaluation. My point is, there is no easy route or a guaranteed route, everybody just had to take that chance knowing they could fail. There was an admission cycle...late 2019 that later led to COVID that I spent close to (make I keep quiet) for application for 10 schools in US n Canada plus WES n ielts. Weigh your options carefully. Will Enugu government withhold your credential as they rightly should? If Enugu government will not keep your credentials, save your stipends, get money for application fee for 2-5 schools n target schools that Nigerians don't need English. If you get funding, the 900k for visa n sevis will show. For canada Can you learn French for 18 months n use d easiest Express entry Route to Canada? Note that the French exam you will write will now cost a cool 700k plus an additional $200 for WES. BUT perhaps you can get a provincial nomination, do your own research. |

RealTrump:Thanks a lot for the insight. ESUT has not said anything as to whether they'll withhold our transcript and only release at the instance of the Ebonyi State government. They've not said anything on it. These are really huge sums on either option; US or Canada a million Naira will be easily spent. Its a lot of risk for a US visa that has more than 60% unapproval rate. If it were easier as UK's I wouldn't mind borrowing it even. Thanks a lot for the insight into the two options, I'll sleep on it. Sorry about your sacrificed sums too, the future is always brighter.❤🙏 |
