Hello Uduafemhe24, can you help with a detailed explanation of the EB2NIW process? I need someone to help breakdown how the application is done from Nigeria. Happy to take this to the DM

uduafemhe24:
Hello everyone,
I have this question I wanted to ask all this while. Here is it; what if as the principal applicant for my EB2-NIW case, i enter the US ahead of my family and have them join me at a later date, but wait for them at the airport on the day of their arrival? I mean, I am aware that, the USCIS has said that the principal applicant should be present when dependents are appearing for the first time.

Thanks.

Nawa o! That means your DQ is close to one year now.

But at least you are close. You should get IL before the end of the year or next schedule.

Dear All,

Happy Independence Day to our fellow Nigerians! Today marks a new beginning, not just for our nation but also for us on this immigration journey. As the new fiscal year has begun at the NVC, there are new opportunities ahead. With at least 140,000 new visa numbers available, we are hopeful that the long wait times at the US Consulate in Lagos will soon ease, and many of us will see movement in our cases.

Let’s hold on to faith and encourage one another. God’s timing is perfect, and He will open doors for all of us in due season. May this new chapter bring speedy interviews, approvals, and breakthroughs for everyone.

We pray for God's favor, guidance, and protection throughout this process. Stay strong, keep believing, and know that better days are ahead.

Wishing you all a happy Independence Day and a successful journey!

Warm regards,

I recently heard that some EB4 applicants received their Interview Letters from the Lagos Consulate on Thursday, 3rd October 2024. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for good news across other EB categories soon… especially for EB2, which really needs some divine intervention!

It seems that the Lagos Consulate might not be fully aware of how long many of us have been documentarily qualified (some for over a year) and waiting, despite being current for months. Since the Consulate needs to notify the NVC about available slots before our documents can be forwarded, there may be value in gently reminding them of the backlog.

Perhaps we could consider sending polite emails to let them know there are numerous EB2 applicants still waiting in Nigeria. Just a thought, but it could help raise awareness about the delays we’re facing.

Let’s stay hopeful and continue supporting each other. Every step forward counts!

EB3 too also really needs intervention, infact I don't really see any difference between EB3 and EB2. Sept and October priority Dates and DQ in Feb 2003 are still very much around .
Pls drop the email of the the embassy is you have it for the gentle reminder...it's not a bad idea at all .
We are rejoicing soon 🙏🙏🙏

My advise is that you should wait. It takes time to receive a notice from them. It is too early to contact them. I will say give them a month and you should also keep in mind that you are mailing from Nigeria. The mail system to receive letters here if it is not by registered mail leaves a lot to be desired.

FYI, they received my petition on 16th Sept and I got notice of receipt on the 26th Sept however I put it in care of someone located in the UK.

They hardly send notices via email even if you fill out the form indicating your interest to get notified via email. I will suggest you contact them cause it has been over a month. I just feel Nigeria's mailing system sucks. My application was received on 16th Sept and I got a notice in the mail on the 26th Sept. But I put it in the care of someone in the UK so so that maybe an advantage in receiving correspondence.

I think there is nothing wrong with sending them an email. However, whoever is sending should be sure to be courteous and respectful. That said, we will need to be a bit more patient. They will get to our turn soon. I believe that much.
Peace.

From my experience, I received a notification when I was documentarily qualified (DQ). Once I became current, I started getting the 60-day notifications. I mention this because I’ve received several of these 60-day notifications after becoming current.
