A 19-Year-Old Man, Abba Yusuf, has allegedly killed his 60-year-old father, Alhaji Dahiru Yusuf Maileather, in Sarkin-Noma area of Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

An Eyewitness told DAILY POST that the incident happened over the weekend at about 8:30 a.m. in Sarkin-Noma when Dahiru Yusuf was stabbed to death by his son.

The Elder brother of the deceased, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Bala, who confirmed the incident, said he was at his residence when a sister called him about the tragic event.

“When my sister called me, she said our brother had been killed by his son. I quickly ran to my brother’s residence only to be told he had been moved to a hospital,” he said.

Bala added that the suspect has been handed over to the police. He also mentioned that the mother of the suspect and her other two children have fled to an unknown destination.

Efforts to reach the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ovye Aya, concerning the incident proved abortive, as he failed to answer calls or respond to text messages sent to his phone lines.
