It's not only Ibadan all the SW states except lagos are like this very backward and underdeveloped. They left their state and ran to Lagos to form omonile. When they see pictures of Igboland being developed by their neighbors in lagos it pains them very well. I repeat this guys cannot develope lagos to what it is today if Lagos was not a state capital. It's not in them.
if you have visit Ibadan before, you wouldn’t have post this rUbBish.
Ibadan have lot of beautiful highbrow areas than any of state you have in the east, this particular area called Bere has remained the same.

Make we leave am for them. They say it is their cultural heritage. That is corrugated iron sheets! I don't know how "corrugated iron sheets" became the cultural symbol of a typical subsaharan African society. I mean, we did not invent that thing, neither do we even have any indigenous company producing that. .

One was giving me an example with Venice the other day; "Its the heritage of our ancestors, bla bla bla.., can't you see the old buildings in Venice? It is the same with ibadan"!!! Abasi mbok! I just don't want to talk. All i know is that at the core of cultural stagnation is a society vigorously waging a relentless jihad against change.
The person should have just said lack of development is the heritage. Shame

Bro you are lieing here. Bere is not the only place that has brown roof. Where is Molete, Iwo road, kudeti Ojaoba, orita, Boluwaji, Egrammar, sawmill,Sanyo, some place in Apata and numerous places I forget to list has brown roof. Though there are places in Ibadan that has modern buildings and infrastructures that are more developed than Delta Edo and some cities in Nigeria.

Ibadan was much saner in 1970s than 2024. The street was freer then than now when the road is characterized by street trading.

You always bring up this watery, baseless and self defeating "Ibadan is an ancient city" argument as if it is more ancient than New York, Rome, London, Damascus, Tyre (Lebanon), Cairo and Jerusalem. Yet these aforementioned cities (some in volatile and wartorn countries) no matter their centuries old history still look modern today. Even in Nigeria, similar ancient cities like Kano and Benin city aren't this ugly looking.

You are trying to communicate to people that were probably living on trees in 1970… everything to them is bitterness and hatred and they cannot reason with you

Having an ancient city is not new in any part of the world.

I was in Boston recently, they have some ancient buildings people are still living there till date. Buildings of over 100 years old.

This is Dorchester in Boston, 1911 vs 2024

So the whole of the largest city in Africa can be captured in one single picture? Wonderful!

This is a typical case study to prove pictures can lie!

In any case, what happened to the mantra: íf it ain't damaged, don't fix it?

Which trees in 1970 of yesterday? Keep deceiving yourself, naturally Yorubas don't spend money in renovations or even building a new edifice, not just Ibadan but spread across the region, where I come from great-grandfathers houses always go through renovations, or if you want to build mansion there you'd pulled it down but remain a fraction part of it for the memory of your father or grandfather

You are the one full of hate and unnecessary pain.

Yorubas didn’t build this didn’t build that and yet Southwest is the most developed region in the country.
The same Ibadan you are here masturbating about has several developed places far beyond your conception.
The same Yorubas have long lasting businesses and can shake the country’s economy.
Yoruba built the entertainment industry, they built schools, build manufacturing companies, Yorubas are part of telecoms, banks and financial institutions and they are still ruling you weather you like it or not.

You must die of pain over your jealousy
