Why are you so ignorant and blabbing about it in public, instead of hiding in shame.
Since I'm babbling, do tell me what lagos state government will export to China as food that they produce?
Since you don't know that this is a smokescreen, you my dear is the one blabbing. You know nothing about government modus operandi in Nigeria.

Ribbon cutting? .... for 10 containers of export products? I'm almost sure the cost of this celebration is more than the produce. I'm almost sure Lagos imports more than 10 containers per day. I do agree with his message that we should be trying to export more ...and not raw materials but value added products. No doubt ... the masses are not aware of the initiative and how to get involved. It is for the State government to be educating the masses via mass media ... he needs to work on that. I really hope these exports are targeting the Chinese and not Nigerians/Africans. We really need to change our import mentality and focus on exporting.

And you want to export foodstuffs to China. You that is import dependant.

And yes, I know China import food but that does not stop them from being the world's number one food exporter, sometimes alternating with us.

What will lagos state government export to China.
Baseless argument you lots love to indulge in.

Common exporting food that will cater for Nigerians in diaspora, una no fit do. Thanks to Ghana and some other countries that feed Nigerian diasporians that crave home food. Na China una wan go.
Na the same lagos state that said they have started rice farming few yrs ago. We know how it ended.

If you know that China imports food, why your question about food exports to them?

By the way, how is Anambra’s food export going since it was launched and lauded several years ago huh

pacodas:
The talk of diversifying the economy has been agog for a long time, while many states are still depending on the federal government for it's funding, some states like Anambra state is making serious inroads in economy diversification.

Governor of Anambra state Chief Willy Obiano has disclosed that in January this year, Anambra became the first state in Nigeria to export vegetables (Ugu and Onugbu) valued at $5million to Europe.

Chief Willy Obiano seem to understand the value of diversifying the economy and attracting more industries to Anambra state and has been working very hard towards this. Recently He confirmed that his concise Economic Blueprint, made up of The Four Pillars of Development; including Agriculture, Industrialization, Trade and Commerce and Oil and Gas he developed on assumption of office has started yielding dividends.

Anambra State Investment Agency, ANSIPPA, charged with the mandate of attracting and fast-tracking investments in the state has so far attracted over $4.2 billion deals to the state. The latest investment according to the governor was sealed on Tuesday last week with Zolt Energy Limited to build a 40 megawatts Embedded Power Generating Plant in Ogbaru. When completed in the next 18 months as scheduled, all the power generated from it will be distributed mainly in Anambra State.

Sanwo-Olu inaugurates agric products export to China

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting private enterprise as he lauded the export of 11 containers of agricultural commodities to China.

The commodities, consisting of Sesame Seeds, Cassia Tora, and Mica, were shipped through the Nigerian Exporters Hub, an initiative aimed at promoting non-oil exports from Nigeria.

Speaking at the event on Monday in Ikeja, the state capital, Sanwo-Olu emphasised the importance of value-added exports and encouraged Nigerian businesses to explore opportunities beyond raw materials.

“By processing our agricultural products locally, we can create more jobs, increase our export earnings, and enhance our economic competitiveness,” he said.

The governor was represented by the Director of Commerce, Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperative, Trade and Investment, Titilayo Adeshina.

Sanwo-Olu highlighted the economic significance of the exported commodities and their potential to foster international trade and strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and China.

b]The event was organised by NEXHUB in collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture to unveil the first batch of exports from Lagos to China.

NEXHUB is an offshoot of the Nigerian Export Trade House China and the Far East region.

He commended NEXHUB for its efforts in facilitating exports and creating opportunities for Nigerian businesses.

The governor, therefore, advised NEXHUB to continue innovating, expanding, and exploring new markets while calling on other Nigerian businesses to emulate the firm.[/b]

“Today’s event is proof that we can build resilient, inclusive and prosperous agricultural and solid mineral sectors that will serve as catalyst for national development.

“In conclusion, I declare these containers officially unveiled, symbolising Nigeria’s readiness to engage with the global market.

“I wish Nigerian Exporters Hub continued success and look forward to witnessing more milestones in Nigeria’s export journey,” he said.

The Chairman of NEXHUB, Victor Ayemere, explained that the firm was established to simplify the export process and empower Nigerians to participate in exportation, generating foreign exchange.

“We want every household to benefit from foreign exchange earnings.

“We must all work together to improve Nigeria’s economy, rather than leaving the burden solely on the government,” Ayemere said.

He noted that many Nigerians were unaware of export opportunities created by the federal government, adding that was why NEXHUB offers training programmes and practical guidance for exporters.

He said that the firm assists its subscribers to get the market and advises them on what, when and who to export to through the Nigerian Export Trade House in China.

He added that 10 containers were initially scheduled for export but an additional container was added, making it a total of 11 to be exported in the first batch

These exported products description doesn't look like they underwent value addition which clearly defeats the purpose of exporting.

China has become the world's largest food importer, and the country's total amount of food imports is expected to reach $140 billion in 2023, according to an industry report recently issued by the China Chamber of Commerce of Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products.
