rentAcock:I think the best way to have this done is to have a serious policy/programme to improve on the dishes with all these assortments, rather than to totally discard the old menus. Add new ones too. It will be hard to ask the people to jettison the type of food they grew up with. But you can insist as a government that meals must include so so and so proteins and vegetables But then, that's if the foodstuffs are affordable or subsidised. |

I first ate it in Okrika with pepper soup and liked it until one Ijaw girl come cook am with not so ripe plantain for me and I hated it with seed everywhere....The plantain used for this needs to be over ripe so the sweetness can be felt |

rentAcock:Nairalanders are not kids, they know the kinds of food they enjoy and the one that is good for them. Nigerians eat all of these you mentioned except salad which they still don’t reject. They only need to eat more of their fruits like pawpaw, pineapple, avocado pear, orange and okra. |

As kids many years ago, we used to eat prepared starch colored with palm oil. Never heard or eaten Onunu before. If it has never been eaten in Lagos, it is not Nigerian or from the South for that matter. Onunu may be one of those new delicacy but I could be wrong o. |
