Gerrard59:I noticed how expensive the place is. How not having a car is like being on wheelchair because commuting is not efficient. The streets are very colourful though, with folks from all corners of the earth, although they mostly stick together to their group. |

The story go get part two I can bet with my hairy blokkos. Let's wait until he gets his PR and citizenship and the true color show manifest. I have since learned that live and affection can be fake and no real Nigerian guy will be happy taking care of other people's kids. It is not in our dna. |

Whytelyon:It takes a day to meet people bro. You don’t have to know people to help them. I’ve gotten help from people i never knew before, both online and offline. So it doesn’t matter bro. |

pansophist:From what I read, an efficient mass public transport system is an anathema in North America due to the size, automobile industrial lobbyers and years of segregation. So I understand how you felt. The streets are very colourful though, with folks from all corners of the earth, although they mostly stick together to their group.Just as everywhere else. Humans are tribal. |

Whytelyon:We’re not quarreling bro. Yes, the world has never been a safe place. In as much as we have bad people, there are good people as well. People you know can as well hurt you or betray you. Approach world with open mind, nobody is an island. It’s totally fine if you don’t want to help, but don’t base that on being a stranger or something. I know at some point in your life you’ve been helped by total stranger or also been hurt by someone close to you. There’s no formula to life bro. Take care |

Gerrard59:Most of the residents also live just to pay bills. Canada is so expensive. Just imagine over half your salary going for rent. Just rent. I havent mentioned other expenses, food and savings. I think most people immigrating to Canada are still stuck in the idea of Canada twenty years ago. The country has transformed to worse. Lots of homeless people are becoming a usual thing to see. In places like Finland for example, homelessness is unheard of. You cant find a single homeless person. Either illegal, legal, citizens or not. The system cares to prevent one from being too poor and cant afford house. Its also so forking lonely. With such a vast area, visiting friends or even doing groceries is a core. From someone coming from Nigeria, Canada can be an upgrade, for if one is migrating from places like Europe, then its like moving to Gambia. |

pansophist:lol wetin Canada do you pansophist? |

hammed71:Canada no do me anything bros, I like una, na why I dey try destroy the delusions lots of people still carry about obodo oyinbo. The average japarians sees Canada as utopia, where they will wear big jackets, with snow everywhere, breathing cold smoke, fresh like fresh fish, and speaking ''you wanna, gonna, modafoka'' ![]() When they land, then they realize that struggles and sufferings on earth is universal, and that migrating is about replacing one struggle with another, not the elimination of sufferings. You will miss sunlight, warm weather, the privilege of being the default colour, and everyone speaks and talk like you. If you are a woman, you will miss all your simps, who made you felt comfortable even though you are unemployed. T-pain's ''renewed hope'' strategy didn't affect you because you can always bill your maga for their weekly financial contributions, and fork the man you are attracted to. If na man, then no excuse. If he is fat, then konji go almost bend his waist because the naija privilege of getting chicks with money no matter how obese you are doesnt work. He must eat vegetables and hit the gym to even have a shot at success. Tinder and dating sites will be your second home. Swiping like an idiot for your Tinderella. You go see fine girls, you go wonder how God created some human beings so perfect, but you know say you no fit get am. If she wan punish you small, she go swipe yes to you, but wont reply your message. Leave you on read permanently, hurting your ego and esteem. Bills piling up, and maybe you are sharing a tiny flat with a Pakistani that wakes you up every morning because he is talking to him mum in Karachi that needs money. You didnt learn how to speak Hausa in Naija, but you learn Hindi by force because of living with him and hear him shout on the phone or his friends visiting. In the midst of your struggles, people back home will be having hope that their brother or sister is in Canada, and expecting cash from you, meanwhile, you are suffering and no one can empathise afterall, if abroad is that bad, you should come back. If you understand all these, then Canada will not be a shock to you. But if you carry delusions about how Canada was twenty years ago, then sorry is your name. To reduce pain in life, you must not be delusional. |
