Moses Simon man of the match
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m):
Eguavoen should not bench Onyedika again. His movement is just cream. Also Dele Bashiru has been purely intelligent.

Our players, especially the strikers should learn from Dele Bashiru. You can see how he stayed away from the crowded area and gave room for Simon to pass too.

Intelligent goal.

Exactly. Fisayo will always take up such positions because he knows how good his ball striking is. He can hit them!!!

Onyedika's entrance also saw us progress the ball a lot faster and more precisely.

Two Game changers.

Kudos to Moses Simon as well. He never stopped putting those balls into the box.

A midfield of Onyeka, Onyedika and Dele-Bashiru is what we need going forward, these guys just bring more youth and dynamism to our midfield...Iwobi should play from the wings and Ndidi can come off the bench to see out the game for us.

Guys forget it,i will never fault AE style of play…the man plays 100% possession football…we are jus being unlucky with bad ref and absence of VAR..
One thing I’ll definitely give to Nigerian local coaches is that the SE gameplay tends to be more ambitious when a local coach is on the stands. They tend to believe in the teams ability much more.

I used to feel that if we play more attacking football we would be exposed, I’m glad to see that I’m being proven wrong.

if both players are this positive, then they should be starting our matches. Sorry for Iwobi he may begin chopping the bench the more. No time for experimentation anymore

TheSuperNerd:
The difference between FISAYO AND IWOBI IS ONE WORD.... Ball striking

Iwobi is more a creator than Fisayo but Fisayo is that MF you want at the end of your final balls in the final third and not Iwobi.
We can play both of them in the return leg together. Iwobi plays 10, Fisayo plays 9

Ndidi and Onyeka in midfield cannot progress the ball meaning that Iwobi has to drop deep leaving the front three on their own, expect a low scoring game
Low scoring indeed

Chuks hasn't learnt the art of bodyfeint. He tries to do with the legs what he could do with just a bodyfeint
He needs to keep things simple. It's annoying at this rate. We complained about Simon until he started doing simple stuff that make fans appreciate his simple but impactful approach. Kudos to him for spotting the ummarked Bashiru. Chuks can never.

Also, big kudos to Bash for using just a touch to make the difference. I can count 6 players in the game today that can't do that one touch to shoot.

See the time wasting Libyans rushing to complain about time.😂😂😂😂

But this has been common knowledge based on the performance of our midfielders, I'm not saying anything new or unpopular...Iwobi will be happy his creative burdens have been relieved by the emergence of Dele-Bashiru.

At the end it's good to have more depth and competition.

did you see the Libyan player ask ref to check his watch again after the final whistle grin grin grin grin

We were too wasteful with goal scoring, was very bad!!!!!! Too many chances wasted. I expect Libya to play with more bravery on Tuesday and we should be able to beat them that way. and maybe this was a game for Atilogu dancer, maybe he would have won a penalty or make the Libyans get a red card. The Libyans came to park a train!!!!

A tale of the last 2 lads to wear the #10 GWG Jersey.

Joe Aribo - 2 goals in 34 caps.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru - 2 Goals in 5 caps.

Fisayo's ball striking is shouting!!

Well deserved. He created half a dozen big chances that i saw, plus his goal. If his teammates were more clinical, he would have bagged a hattrick of assists tonight.
