They also sell at cut throat prices because they need the money urgently Their economy does well, because they do not only rely on oyel, and also they export manufactured goods and servics Something your agbado government, or its predecessors , never consider for nigeria. |

You know what? I've read all the trash you wrote about your lord and savior saint Obi and I felt you don't really deserve my response bcoz your comment shows the level of your understanding. phantom:you said Obi is a businessman, he's a billionaire etc. you said Obi would borrow $2b to finance a business that would bring $6b. I know you don't understand governance just like your Obi and that's why someone said governance wasn't about container business. Note this, profit is not the intent of government. It's about service and well-being of the people. Let me just leave you to your dreams. |

mrvitalis:From where? World bank? Except for grant for natural destaster or something like that, all loan has interest, maybe low but there's an interest on it. We are still paying some load collected during Obasanjo tenure, interest free?🙄🙄 |

stuffs2002:Nigeria was run down by NIgerians of all tribes and religions And they ran it down by running it on the idea that we should sell raw materials to the developed world, and use the revenue to import our way to development and western lifestlyle, and pay for subsides for millions of people...to lift them out of poverty in record time. The result is the debt ridden mess we are today. |

Rochasstatue:The problem is, APC under t-pain Is doing the same thing Obi proposed. At least they tried to defend the naira with borrowed money (which they lied about) then when that did not work, they had to devalue the thing. Plus Buhari did the same thing for 8 years, and left us with debt service eating 99% of our revenue. |

But Mr poster, you played the devils advocate here by playing a half video that did not capture all he said. You should know that's criminal misrepresentation in journalism. You did it on purpose to push a wrong narrative and present the man as lacking in ideas and knowledge. That's criminal. If he is the troublesome time and he gets hold of this your half truth, you know what the outcome should be. Better be careful as there may be people here who are close to him and you could be sued for criminal misrepresentation. They don't catch cruise with everything as the video is in the public space and for you to cut it so as to achieve your intentions and purposes may land you in big trouble. |

mrvitalis:Village B that built price, cassava, shoe, mills will carry their products on their heads to hawk in the street because their is no good road and standardized marketplace. Right? This is what is happening in Nigeria. Infrastructure like storage facilities, good road to move products, and close by marketplaces aren't there. Go ask farmers the percentage of harvests that get spoilt. And you will use bicycles and bikes to deliver the shoes and other goods you produce to your customers because of no good road. Right? Infrastructure must be in place first that aids the marketplace. Leave the rest and see how investors pump in. Do you know how many farm villages were built in Nigeria and are no longer used because farmers were unable to cope due to a poor road network? China built all infrastructure first before other things. The dame with south Korea. By now, Lagos should have demolished all buildings on the mainland and erected at least 30 levels of skyscrapers in Ebute Meta, Yaba, Ikorodu Road, Ikeja, Ogba, and even Agege. Do that and see if Lagos does not generate 10 times the GDP it currently generates. |

epainos:Before the money was given what road did they use to go buy things Akwa ibom and aba is a perfect example Abia had the worse roads, Akwa ibom had the best infrastructure yet goes to Aba through the bad road to buy goods I am not saying infrastructure is bad, no I am saying borrowing money to build infrastructure is foolish Taking your kids to vacation is not bad But using your capital to do that is foolish How hard can this be |

PHIPEX:If you read my comment clearly, you will understand that I have mentioned this too. Laura Train Project cannot be neglected because you just have to be fair to all regions. The north are also planning towards the day the south will tell them to go away and mean it. And I think the North having such projects are the reasons they may accept to allow Nigeria break. They also will want to connect with their neigbors. Lol. That project may be meaningless to you, but it is very important to them. However, I am aware that if the residents of the area are sincere, the train project has the potential to generate significant revenue. Perhaps not as far as Lagos to Cotonou, or River to Cameroon. I am not in support of looting money with projects, but it is better to use these loans for projects rather than using them to defend naira, palliative, or expenses that will just varnish like that. Some people want them to borrow and support small businesses. For what? Small businesses owners that will collect cash and japa. You use it for education...and they don't return to serve your nation. Na good investment be that? Na that all must be on projects because we cannot ignore education also. But I support more projects. |

forget about naira, give us 24hrs electricity. remove duty on food imports. the 12billion $ you want to borrow can give us 2 nuclear plants. increase minimum wage to 150k. reduce oil price sold to Dangote by 30% so we can get fuel cheap. |

mrvitalis:You obviously need to study the relationship between urban planning and economics. They go together. Akwa Ibom you have mentioned are suffering seriously and the rate of growth there is so small. This is Lagos is still ahead. Lagos is ahead of Onitsha too because of this reason. Still you don't see it? Lol. This is why south east will not be prosperous as it should be. Put infrastructure in that Akwa Ibom (SS) and in most SE states and you will see how they will compete with Lagos. If you have to borrow to put infrastructure there, you better do it. The only problem is corruption. |

stagger:This is exactly what the President did last year. Una dey always comments without a quality counterargument. The main difference with PO proposal is that you don't leave the naira to float and investing in SMEs and businesses to encourage export. With that approach, the super inflation we are experiencing won't be in place. https://www.reuters.com/markets/currencies/nigerias-nnpc-secures-3-billion-loan-stabilize-fx-market-2023-08-16/ |
