Common disease with poultry birds now is coryza, let us ensure we create good ventilation for our birds from second week upward. Whenever the rain stops raining, let's ensure we open our pen houses back to good ventilation in order to avoid this disease called CORYZA. Factors to consider with egg production 1. FEED Feed that is well balanced give a bigger eggs than feed that is poorly balanced. Also restricting the birds of feed lead to laying of smaller eggs. High energy in feed maintain egg production during the cold weather and during the hot weather it ought to be dropped a little to avoid mortality. 2. WATER Shortage of water ultimately lead to small eggs due to reduction of the quantity of water in egg composition. Also shortage of water reduces egg production. 3. Another worrisome disease we need to consider during this broiler season is called Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD). This disease makes birds to be coughing and sneezing which is worrisome to broiler birds. We need to understand that this disease is caused by lack of ventilation, wet litters and congestion of birds. Treatment: tylodox, pure tylosin or tilmicoxin Note: Tilmicoxin is very effective for chronic respiratory disease but it must not be used for laying birds because those eggs will be bitter during usage Let us ensure we create good ventilation for our brooded boiler birds during this year season to avoid wahala caused by the heat or lack of ventilation.
