But it is demeaning to both the living and the dead, going around counting corpses because some greedy politicians and their goons need to earn some extra funds.

Ghosts do exist, have had personal experience.
Oh if you're talking about counting of the corpses. I think you're right on that.

Who are those speaking for the dead?
Why don't we have elected dead members ?
Please the living shouldn't speak for the dead. Let the dead represent themselves and fight for their right

You bitter jobless man, go and learn internet marketing or graphic design etc. Instead of living on peanut handout paid to you by those who genuinely hate and turned your life upside-down, you operate a known controversial monica on here which if reverse was the case, someone perhaps from the same tribe you were paid to hate would have linked you up and uplift you from your devastating pitiful life of misery and obscurity.

STOP generalizing and complicating a common issue, for your information, this is a decision made by the state govt that the netzines on here is opposing but you who is bile driven quickly jumped in trying to misconstrue facts.
GET A LIFE
He is too bitter. A time will come when he will realize what he did to himself.

If Lagos government start this or any state in the West start the same thing you will see igbo calling it over tax that's responsible for the high IGR of south west.

Even with taxing dead bodies Enugu government can't surpass Osun state in IGR generation, this should show you the level of productivity going on in each region.
You can help them by calling out their governors as they used to help you guys in calling out the excesses of your own governors. isn't this an act of wickedness from you lot?

Guy, cool down. Burial processes is creating a social problems in the East. Dead bodies stays years in the morgue for their families to meet up the burial processes. Both the Churches and Government have been trying to avert these but it is not working.
Some churches have said that if you don't bury your dead relatives within 30 days, that they will not participate. It is still not working. An average family needs millions of Naira for burial. This is what they are trying to discourage. If it succeeds in Enugu State, other states in the East will adopt it because it a social problems among the States in the East.
That one should have been stopped a long time ago but it would be hard to stop it now. Even with this tax it would still be a tough task because some people will still abandon their corpses in the morgue.

You see politicians are the most dangerous people on earth. Someone somewhere will just sit down and cook up one silly policy and the assembly members will stupidly pass and the nonsense executive will assent to it. When I will going to experience the dividends of democracy?

The sum of N40 only is to be paid by owners of a corpse once it was not buried within 24 hours. The amount continues to count daily.

Appropriate law should be enacted so that people can bury their dead ones at least three days without traditional encumbrance from locals

Yes, i support this, bury the dead the next day, why keep them?

Anyway, many people will abandon their dead in the morgue if you start taxing them. Eventually you d have thousands of dead smelly bodies in various morgues.
