For those that think South Africa is playing around and feel they will roll over when we meet them in Johannesburg for their WC qualifiers. You might wanna watch this.
Wowww... We're so scared 😒🙂

All I’m saying is having an assistant manager that is better with tactics would help. One flaw from AE we had seen in the past was on his tactical nous. Not just AE, but many managers in the game.

The head manager is better at man management, but the asssitant manager is better at tactics/coaching.

Klopp and Pep Linjders
Carlo Ancelotti and his son

Southgate was a good man manager but his tactics were poor. He’d have benefitted from a tactical assistant manager.

So on and so forth. It’s nothing about race.
Since race is out of the way, what is the metric to determine a "sound assistant"?
Why I ask is that; so far AE has taken decisions that has positively affected the team, do you feel his assistants are not sound enough?
Cus so far, it's been good.

If south Africa could not beat us with finidi that is inexperienced, plus lack of us missing many key players.... Definitely not with Eguaveon and his assistants if the squad is complete.

The best result both side will have is draw
Realistically, both SA and Nigeria, none will loose or win.

Sa sef go collect from Benin hands

I love your optimism. All I posted is for us not to lose guard. We have the tendency to be lax when we wanna play SA. Imagine us ceding possession to them both at the Afcon and in Uyo. As Elyte said earlier, cohesion is key. That is what the South africans have going for them right now.

Okayy I get your point
The game against Libya I noticed something, that drive that has been missing for lomg in SE

Imagine if it was before they would have taken that 0-0 happily... Go house but the attack till the last minute was something else
I dunno when last SE scored a last minute winning goal...
So yeah with this form they can even beat SA... We just need to improve on some lapses

This was how they had a large scoreline and then went to Rwanda to be defiled

We didn't cede possession to them in Uyo o. We had 57% of possession.

That was why the loss to Benin was a shocker. We had a good game against SA

Not when I have Bashiru and Onyedika on the field. Ballers who are never scared to call you to pass the ball to them to wipe in a precise screamer. cool grin

I never put my trust in Iwobi or Ndidi against low blocking teams. They just don't have that.

AE has a very positive effect on these guys mentally... In just a month
Imagine what will happen if he says with them with at least six months

I kid you not even SA go fear

This is actually wrong who didn’t watch the match would think we dominated the entire game, South Africa ran out of steam during the 70s minute that’s when we took possession

You watch the match from start to finish and you said we dominated the game

Positive effects doesn’t win you tournament

Dirty plays

Perfect execution of drills and ruthlessness wins you tournaments

We’re still not ruthless and we still have style of play that brings us goals no matter the opposition

The day we lose (god forbid) that’s when you’ll see all these positive vibes turned to blame and bitterness.

The Brazilian president wants only players playing in the Brazilian league to play for the Brazilian national team.
He’ll be rolled under the carpet 😂

In terms of revenue and job opportunities the Brazilians are doing more for the country than the president ever could 😂

This will fall on deaf ears

No. Immediately Fisayo equalised at 46' we took control of the game.

Admittedly we were sluggish in the first half but not to the extent of describing the match as "ceding possession"

You can check Sofascore stats and see the possession for both halves

No we did not as fisayo equalized the game became a tug of war but at 60+ they agreed to themselves that a draw was better than a loss 😂

South Africa no come out again

Looking at the goals SA scored 2 or 3 of the goals is subject to debate of whether the goalkeeper should have caught 1 or 2.

Super eagles are in the Air right now en route to Libya . Wish them a win but a draw wouldn’t be bad. Nigeria can’t lose in Libya

You're spot on about the 2022 WC finals one of if not the best in the entire history of the tournament.

In terms of stature of players and quality of play 1998 still stands out for me. All the big names of that era brought their A game. Pity the final was a one sided anti-climax.
I enjoyed 98. The goals scored by Bergkamp,(against Argentina) Owen(against Argentina) and Kluivert (against Brazil) are such sweet goals that till date I still relish them.

In an ideal setting against Libya's low block defence which will be on show again, Egu should go with a midfield 3 of Onyedika-Iwobi-FDB to ensure smoother and efficient ball progression from the back into the final third.

Onyeka "The Tank" and Ndidi "the octopus" are midfield generals in this team but for the sake of the low block opposition, they would have to start from the bench in my ideal setting for this game alone.

All the same, we await Egu and the crew's picks.

He cannot be benched. Fisayo cannot shoulder the Creative burden of the team and he is no 2nd phase midfielder.

Fisayo is a final third killer MF. An AM with vertical thinking, good drive/ball carrying, good passing and brilliant ball striking. But he cannot fall deep to orchestrate plays like Iwobi does.

IT WOULD BE FOOLISH BENCHING OUR MOST CREATIVE MIDFIELD PLAYER. Fisayo should play alongside him not replacing him.

i.e to say Fisayo is more of an attacking midfielder/support striker who can as well play as a b2b midfielder while Iwobi is better as a Deep lying playmaker(DLP).
