Football ⚽ has moved on and you are stuck in the 1990's.

Wingers are becoming more or less an obsolete terminology in today's football ⚽. We talk of forward players coming from the left or right and it inverted wingers.

Salah, Saka, Diaz, Martinelli, Rashford, Garnacho, Nico Williams, Lamine Yamal are predominantly coming in from the wings 💸 but nobody would call them just wingers.

Indeed these players are the top goal scorer in their clubs
any how u wanna tag it na that one concern you, was it 1990 argentina via marcos rojo sent us away from 2018 world cup group stage…did you watch how they relentlessly pumping crossing from left and right wing into our box18 till that late goal that shattered us….y’all will jus be forming unnecessary wokeness in football….oga take it or leave it, quality teams in this present times still use wing play to break down stubborn defense…go and watch Nig vs Argentina and watch the beautiful marcos rojo goal

Boniface is a Vibe. He even did a clip of the Libyan driver who brought the nonsense bus for them after 16hours of being stranded at the airport.

And then he replies this guy.... (Truly the players won't risk it and rightly shouldn't)

Pls tell Boniface, he understands nothing about diplomatic tactics and gimmicks. He is a whole brand that can be picked out . It's a game between nations. Let the ordinary fans do the social media banter on this. Why post one of those Arabs and say he looks like a dragon. Grow up Boniface. It's a national issue. And you are not to cruise with such. You are an easily identifiable target, it might be a joke to you, but it will not be to them. Arabs are wired weirdos.

Libyan Football Federation statement:

We are deeply concerned about the recent reports surrounding the diversion of the Nigerian national team’s flight ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Libya.

While we regret any inconvenience caused, it is essential to note that such incidents can occur due to routine air traffic control protocols, security checks, or logistical challenges that affect international air travel.

These are standard procedures at airports worldwide, and delays or rerouting, though unfortunate, are not uncommon.
We have the utmost respect for our Nigerian counterparts and want to reassure them that the diversion of their flight was not intentional.

There are no grounds to accuse the Libyan security teams or the Libyan Football Federation of deliberately orchestrating this incident. Such actions are inconsistent with our values and principles.

We firmly reject any claims that suggest foul play or sabotage in this situation.
It is important to highlight that just last week, our own national team faced significant challenges upon our arrival in Nigeria for the third match of the Africa Cup of Nations qualification.

Despite the difficulties we encountered, we did not make public accusations nor question the integrity of the Nigerian authorities. Football, in its essence, unites nations, and we are committed to upholding the spirit of fairness and mutual respect both on and off the field.

In Libya, we pride ourselves on our hospitality and our welcoming nature. We have always prioritized treating all visiting teams, including our African brothers and other international delegations, with the respect and dignity they deserve.

Hosting these events is a great honor for us, and we strive to ensure that all teams feel safe and respected as our guests. This commitment to equality and hospitality is a core aspect of our culture and tradition.

We hope that this misunderstanding can be resolved with understanding and goodwill. Our doors are open to our Nigerian brothers and all African teams, and we continue to promote the spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and friendship in the world of football.

You’re telling me the CAM position has become obsolete ok sir
i still don't get it when people come up with there's no 10, 7 or 9 in modern football. Maybe we should move it a step, there's is no 1 in modern since goalkeepers are now expected to be ball players.

I'll agree if they say the way the no10 role is interpreted now is different from before, not saying there's no 10 or 6.
No wonder finidi say formation doesn't matter.

You have a limited understanding of this. It goes beyond football. And Boniface wants to cruise. There are more Nigerians locked up in Libya than libyans locked up in Nigeria. Nigerians crossing the Mediterranean sea are treated as nothing. And you want to talk about the experience of sleeping on a chair to the harsher experiences our people can suffer from his own cruise. He called someone aboki and he was warned for that, that he quickly had to retract his statement by removing the post. What has happened is beyond him. It is our national issue. Don't be the face to it. We can resolve this with our government, our football association ànd caf. You don't wanna be walking around in Leverkusen and be attacked by a knifer over a stupid comment

Poor damage control.

Anyone with a brain can read between the lines of the Libyan FF response.

The conciliatory tone screams guilt and the excuses are shallow

I hope CAF sanctions the Libya FF severely.

Exactly how I feel. Libya is really looking down at us . and it is good our government feels this too . They are hostile to the ordinary Nigerian crossing their country. They think everyone in Nigeria is like that. Our government must shake them up. This is ridiculous.

Ghana and Sudan both landed in Benghazi without any sort of issues. No rerouting. Nothing. But it is Nigeria's turn, and they bring up these technicalities. They release this statement now because they can see how this is being escalated.

When they carried out same thing to Enyimba unprovoked in 2022, it was not escalated in the media.

Below is the Libyan FF Handle on X and their shitty post. Feel free to drag.

We have hosted all manner of teams in Uyo including teams from Europe and there were no issues.

This North African nation is a big disgrace and they should hide their faces in big shame, Nff should go ahead and file a complaint to FIFA on the terrorist act of holding our players hostage for hours. Nonsense
