MadPolitician:
Tribalism proved to be the biggest enemy of the Nigerian people. People are no more protesting because they have chosen to support whosoever that is in power, irrespective of his bad policies, as ling as he is from their ethnic group. Its more like "smiling while suffering", just to ensure that their tribal leaders in power are not removed or humiliated.

They have also managed to build up a groundswell of opposition against those from other areas trying to challenge the terrible leadership of their tribal tin gods. This they do by also going back to all sorts of tribal arguments. It's now a "we versus them" mentality. So the corrupt presidency contineously gets away with murder. Easily.
The last needless protests took place in all zones of the country except the South East. Are you talking based on facts or based on emotions and propaganda? During the elections, every other region/zone had different winners from the different parties except in the South East where there was only one winner with impossible percentages. Gaslighting is a sin and should be a crime.

Elections are not meant to distribute votes to all sorts of wacky characters, including drug dealers and vintage kleptomaniacs, just make every group feel happy. Elections are meant for the people to vote in the BEST candidates. I used to think that this is so easy for people to understand. So why should the east vote for say Tinubu? A certified drug baron? They voted for Obi, because they felt he was the best . You voted for your Pablo Escobar, because you said he was the best too. Allow the public to look at them and look at you and me and decide on who was cutting of his nose to spite his face. East protested with their votes loud and clear. You can't laugh at them for voting against a TERRIBLE candidate, then come back a year later to lay scorn at them for not joining you to protest against the same candidate you voted in! Common naa, make it make sense.

The destruction of Nigeria started with the gang up by the usual accomplices - The North and the West with their Occupy Nigeria at Ojota, Lagos in 2014. When they succeeded in removing Jonathan and installing Buhari, that's when I concluded that Nigeria is irredeemably gone, done for, dead and buried.

Since then, it has been spiral retrogression, no thanks to a worst calamity that took over power recently.

End result of voting in leaders and allowing our leaders to run an economy based on oil and oil alone.

When oil crashed in 2014 , that should have been the chance to run some sane economics.

Apc had a chance to change the paradigm. They failed.Instead they borrowed to keep the facade up. Even the changes they are making now are because there isn't enough money to hide the cracks.

Anyway, we shall see. Right now, the mess is too great..

I repeat,no Igbo should ever come out to Protest anything let everything keep going up till you guys use your hand to remove your D*llard of a pr*sident.
Since tribalism is the way forward to elect a credible Leader.
This statement is tribalistic.
I’m from Delta State and here’s one truth;
Igbos are as tribalistic as the Yorubas, if not more.
The funny thing is that you don’t even know you’re being tribalistic 😁

Thank God it's the same people that protested against removal of subsidy in 2012 are now the ones in power. They should have just allowed for the subsidy removal, the people would have adjusted, exchange rate would have been reasonable, inflation wouldn't be so high.

The painful thing about Nigeria present situation is that this new government is distributing the consequences of the stealing and corruption of its tenure and former administration to the ordinary Nigerians despite the people not benefitting anything from it all.

Now everything has skyrocketed to very abnormal prices because they claim that Nigeria owes debt here and there. To be honest with ourselves: what are Nigerians enjoying from all the natural resources that God gave us for free? NOTHING.

70% of the problems we face today is caused by the citizens ( laziness) not the govt....thou the govt may be useless and that's the total reflection of the citizens cos out of 200m people. we've selected few as leaders to show the kind of people we are.

Nothing will change until we start thinking.
Oga, it's clear that you have never traveled.
Are Nigerians lazier than South African or Arabians? Are Nigerians lazier than the French? Nigerians work harder than most Africans yet their outcomes are much worse.
Just travel and educate yourself.

the problems we have today are caused by bad leaders who had next to no visions! Nigerians are some of the most hardworking people you will ever find. Go to countries where there are many non-indigenes, you will hardly find homeless Nigerians. Instead, you find Nigerians excelling on all fronts. For you to generalize that over 200m Nigerians are useless simply because the few who rule us 'are useless' (using your words) is completely absurd. I really wonder how you came about such an assumption. While it is true that Nigerians are very docile, and that's the very reason many of our leaders do what they do and get away with (they feel Nigerians can only bark but won't bite), I can assure you, that sooner than later, these so called leaders will get the shocker of their lives when, one day, Nigerians will wake up from their docility and spring a total surprise on them.

We are heading the Venezuela/Zimbabwe way and at his rate we will surely get there. Fuel will eventually sell at 5000 naira a liter then you will eventually need a bag full of money to buy a simple loaf of bread. Calculators will begin to give errors as a result of astronomical prices of goods and services.
Till Nigerians rise against these devils nothing will change.

This was 3 years ago ,Omo it's really crazy huh huh for how long can Nigerians endure
What were the prices nine years ago when Tinubu led us into APC shege with the help of ITK Obasanjo huh

citizenisb:
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says President Muhammadu Buhari may not do well in economy and foreign affairs, except in military matters.

“Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said.

The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues — themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies” — organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.

While reacting to a question posed to him by a member of the audience: “Is there any hope for Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari?”, Obasanjo replied, “Is there any hope for Nigeria under this administration? I came back from Geneva, Switzerland a few days ago to attend a conference titled, ‘Are elections giving democracy a bad name?’ We had an election, we elected a leader and the good thing about democracy is that the power you have to elect a leader is also the power you have to remove him. I am saying this because I said earlier that if you don’t see any leader that has done well in the 56 years of Nigeria’s independence, then let us forget about Nigeria.

“I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”

I wish they can take us back......

Because, this problem started when Nigerians gathered to enthroned a dullard and dethrone a learned sitting president because they were tired and needed a change ..

From that day till today, it's been sorrow upon sorrow.
Tinubu and his tribal Yoruba bigots have achieved their ebilokan dream of Yorubalokan, we should endure to the end of the light at the end of their tunnel.

Emergingnation:
Flashback: How Bola Tinubu spoke highly of Buhari in 2015, named PDP ‘Poverty Development Party

National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu had during the presidential campaign in 2015, referred to President Muhammadu Buhari as the only solution for the security and economic challenges facing Nigeria.

During a mega presidential rally, the former governor of Lagos State recalled how some powerful nations in the world returned to army generals when they were challenged, saying “Major General Buhari would revive Nigeria’s economy”.

He named the current opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the “Poverty Development Party saying they had nothing to offer.

His words at the time were; “Every nation has a period of their own challenges, when America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When the French were challenged, they turned to their general, Charles de Gaulle.

“When Britain was challenged, they turned to their general. Today, Nigeria is economically and physically challenged so we turn to General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job. If you talk about military experience, he has it abundantly, he has courage, simplicity, he has it abundantly.

“If you talk about great determination, a combination of vision and ability to perform, honesty and integrity, he has it abundantly.

“I laugh when the incapable government, ‘Poverty Development Party’ PDP were talking. They have nothing again to say, they now want to question the qualifications of General Buhari and look for his certificate”.

Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy.
