Good day hux

Concerning when to use a gift deed and when to use a sponsorship letter, Now my question is, if my relative sends money to my Dom acc and I used the money for my GIC, Note I sent the money directly from my Dom acc. Additionally, this same relative of mine also paid my tuition from his own account, should this relative of mine do a gift deed for the money he sent to my Dom acc and write a sponsorship letter for payment of my tuition? Or what should I do? Thank you. Kindly respond ASAP PLEASE 🙏
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by MarksmanD: 1:45pm On Oct 12, 2024
From my own experience, my sponsor only wrote a letter of sponsorship that was notorized. My sponsor is my sibling. I think if your sponsor is your sibling, the sponsor doesn't need to do a deed of gift. A sponsorship letter is fine. If your sponsor isn't your direct relative, I think they should do both to be on the safer side.

Please, can someone who recently submitted their passport at the VFS Lagos office without booking an appointment share details on how they were able to submit it?

I would say firstly you pay the 2,500, then 21kCAD for living expenses, another 5k CAD as miscellaneous totaling 26kCAD
Thanks saucekid. I will do that

Anyone going to langara college for the spring 2025 intake?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by peptidylyly: 5:20pm On Oct 12, 2024
You do not need to book an appointment. Just go to the office with your passport request letter. If you had your biometrics taken at that center, bring the sticker you were given after the biometrics.

[quote author=MarksmanD post=132382965]PPR alert!!!
My BVL dropped 24 hours before my PPR came.
My application timeline was 13 weeks. There was no update on the New portal tracker and the tracker account I registered on. Even when my BVL dropped before the PPR. Nothing changed on the tracker.
IRCC will humble you, but trust in Jesus, he's forever faithful and merciful.

I'm a first time applicant and I did my application process myself. I used the New portal. My POF documents alone was almost 100 pages. SOP documents was like 30 pages and I compressed it to 1.8mb. I used almost a month to write my SOP, because I needed to sell myself, not just as a mere student, but as someone who will make valuable contributions to the Canadian economy with my professional skills.

A total of 45k CAD was my budget for this application.
Documents used:
1. GIC (20,650)

2. First semester tuition receipt (11k CAD)

3. Tuition balance in my domiciliary account(8k CAD)

4. Flight and ancillary expenses of 5k CAD.

5. 15 months payslips and invoices from previous employer to my current employer and side gigs. Bureau de Change deposit slips.

6. Housing deed of gift which was legalized by the court.

7. Promotion letters (I had like 3 promotions in a year and 5 payrise when I worked for some Nigerian companies). Reference letter as a volunteer for an NGO.

8. My sponsor notorized the sponsorship letter. He also sent the full money I needed to my account. He gave me a copy of his residency permit, passport data page, investment account statement, employment letter and work permit, payslips for a year and his most recent picture.

9. I used my parents as home ties. I hardly take pictures of myself and I had no recent picture with my family, so I used family pictures of when I was a teenager and I added a recent family picture which I wasn't in.
I have a registered business which has never been operational since it was registered almost 2 years ago. I explained the reason my course program would give me the required skill needed in running the business when I return to Nigeria (I didn't submit a tax clearance because the business has never operated. But I submitted the CAC and shareholder documents).

10. Previous study visa rejection letter from another country's embassy. The admission letter of the school that admitted me (Still the same study program as in Canada. My study program is on the list of the programs Canada wants and would give PGWP for). The full tuition receipt I paid and the tuition refund receipt.

11. I'm in tech and I have been in the same job role for almost a decade. (I have worked remotely for companies in the top 10 tech countries in the world list). As a remote worker in Nigeria, you need to have multiple receiving accounts because of different clients and employers would give you their best option to send your money. I had 4 different foreign receiving accounts. I explained each and every transactions I got in them (I had lump sum transfers) and why I had 4 different receiving accounts and their pros. Even when I realized that I didn't attach some lump sum receipts to my POF documents 2 months after my application, I sent it with Webform and explained it.

12. My SOP explanation letter alone was almost 10 pages. I was truthful with my application. Where I had an error, I stated it and I showed proof on how the error came about.

13. I did upfront medical at Q-life because it was cheaper than IOM a week before I submitted my application.

This whole Canada thing was orchestrated and led by God, and all the glory, honor, and thanks belongs to him.

I acknowledge the effort of and I thank @Zubizareta and @JMG (Just Move Global), they patiently answered my questions on Whatsapp for free when I started this journey. Special thanks to others who answered my questions on Nairaland.

To others waiting, it's just a matter of time for your own testimony too in Jesus name. At a time I got tired of waiting. My admission process took over 2 months. My visa application process took over 3 months.
Never stop praying and never stop trusting God. Please, be truthful in your application. If you are stuck and need help with your application, you can shoot me a mail and I'll try my best to reply to them.

Ah! Finally God has done it for you. You have been so helpful in this group by answering many of our questions. Congratulations to you. I tap into this testimony, I will share mine too soon.

You just spoke the mind of the people here in diaspora. I have spent 40M on this journey. I can't go back home again so we have to keep moving. I have friends here that will start crying once it's close to end of the month cos they need to pay their rent for the new month. We eat what we see not what we like. I had to use scissors and cut my hair cos I don't have money to make my hair. I finally got a job after 4months of being here but I can't even get 20hrs in a wk. Sometimes, na 8hrs/wk.
If I screenshot my indeed application, e reach 50 na so so unfortunately I dey get.

Damn, this is highly necessary insight into Canada from person already in the system.

Sorry ma'am about what you and others are passing through👌.
Your message shows that funds is very valuable in this journey to sail through at ease going by the housing crises and lack job.

It is safe to say Canada is no longer same as it used to be 2/3 years ago. On this note, I humbly back out from the plan. Success to all who forge ahead.

NB: No need to put yourself in big debt and difficulty by moving with virtually no big support especially living expenses for a year.

The traditional bank statement is fine.
misseris:
Hello house, pls has anyone used Fidelity bank statement for their pof? I have been in the bank all day requesting for mbs but the staff are insisting that it's printed bank statement they do. I showed them how the mbs is but they still don't know what it is.. Can I use the printed bank statement that way for my application pls?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by bullstriker: 2:58am On Oct 13, 2024
If he stands as your sponsor and provides proof of his source of income and bank statement, a sponsorship letter will suffice. A gift deed is required if he is not your sponsor but wants to transfer money to your account.

Notably, some VO frown at gift deeds without sufficient evidence of connection to the donor. For example, explain why this person is gifting you such an amount. Can you show a prior history of support from this person? I recommend mentioning that he paid your tuition fee with proof.

It's not easy to return to Nigeria to do the medical, Bro. I managed to get appointment abroad now.
Pls, where am I going to tell the medical personnel from abroad to send my results to?
MarksmanD:
If you're uncertain about the whole thing, why don't you just play it safe by returning to Nigeria. Within 3 weeks, you'll be able to sort out your medicals and submit and collect your passport after stamping.

I can understand more about the life realities you stated and the one you didn’t mention about…

I don’t want to say anything but God will help us out.. things would get better soon..

Our future is secured already than people who didn’t take risk cos they are scared..

Please support ur husband emotionally more and make him happy more.. we are fighting so many demons in our hearts but so everything will be fine..

Bright future for us ahead

I understand what you're saying, but I don’t fully agree with the statement that "our future is already more secure than those who didn’t take risks because they were scared". As a businessman myself While some risks are worth taking, it's important to recognize that not all struggles lead to a better future. We shouldn’t romanticize hardship or struggle just because we took a big leap. Many people make sacrifices, and sometimes, despite their best efforts, things don’t turn out as planned.
Supporting each other emotionally is crucial, no doubt, but we also need to be realistic. The stress my brother is facing in Canada isn’t just a passing phase—it reflects a system that doesn’t always favour immigrants, especially students. He left home hoping for something better, but the reality on the ground is far from easy. We need to keep pushing, but also critically evaluate how we can make things better for ourselves instead of waiting for things to improve on their own, The risk we took is already done; now we need strategy, support, and real opportunities to move forward, not just hope. student struggling in Canada are not fighting any demon; the issue at hand is about finances, not something Spiritual!
