I had to send someone to First bank to pay my mom's application fee. And that's after trying all my debit and credit cards.

They also lie with ease, I am applying for the first time on the new system, I had paid since the last week of August, I called them last week to complain of inability to fix visa interview, the agent first confirmed that I have a valid payment with them and when I inquired about why I haven't gotten a date, he started issuing one false excuse after another, when I show the failure of logic in all his excuses, he said the problem is with my payment, I asked if he was the same person that just confirmed my payments some minutes prior, he then apologised that the payment is intact that it will soon be resolved, till date, it is yet to be resolved. From experience..it’s better you keep that information of your husband’s cousin to yourself and not even mention it during interview. The school details including the name of the DSO on the I-20 should be what you will put in the US contact person

Sorry about your denial. More funding will help. Taking all your old passports with you also. Also, use the 'why were you denied' section of your next ds 160 to state the things that you have changed for better in your profile. Your age tells a lot too. Coming back for NYSC too sounds to me like a red flag, because, who comes back from the US to finish up their NYSC? At the point of your program completion, what is normal is that some organization is waiting for you to start working with them.

My husband's visa expired since last year.
He didn't renew before expiry because he thought he wouldn't need to travel.

But now, there's an international conference next year February in Canada that he wants to attend.

What options and chances does he have to renew his visa?
Or should he just forget about it?

Why would a former employer choose to sponsor you? Spend a large portion of his life savings on you? Why? To maintain a close relationship with you? What does he stands to gain? Your friendship?

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but you should understand that VOs are trained professionals with a high intelligence quotient. They probably won't buy your story, and there's a high propensity that they won't demand your affidavit and bank statements either.

I do not doubt your submission considering the cost and the benefit to the sponsor however, if it is true his former boss is willing to support his education and not just giving him POF, he should be able to convince anyone without any issue. I believe the true intent behind the sponsorship is sufficient.

Take your time to research these schools and others. Some do not require WES as their international student office have staff who has very good understanding of evaluation of foreign transcripts. You could save the money for WES and use it for other stuffs.
