*Muhammad Bashiru Saidu - Tactics lifted Sudan

Sudan coach James Kwesi Appiah has praised his Nigerian analyst Muhammad Bashiru Saidu after a 2-0 win over Ghana in a 2025 AFCON qualifier in Libya.

Sudan held the Black Stars in Ghana before they won in Libya to climb to second place in Group F with seven points from four matches.

Angola have already qualified for next year’s AFCON with 12 points, Ghana are third with two points, while Niger are bottom on a point.

Appiah has since praised Saidu: “His expertise and analysis were instrumental in our success against Ghana. He brought a fresh perspective to our game plan, and his recommendations paid off.”

Appiah, a veteran coach with extensive experience in African football, said Saidu’s credentials and exceptional abilities will revolutionize the sport on the continent.

“Muhammad has the potential to change African football,” he asserted.

“His understanding of the game, combined with his UEFA CTSM knowledge, makes him an invaluable asset to any team.”

Muhammad Bashiru Saidu is poised to become the first Nigerian to complete the prestigious UEFA Tactical and Strategic Management Programme.

My phone gives me the option to roam anywhere in the world with few exceptions like North Korea etc and I expect it will be the same with all these players.

It's still very simplistic ROAMING I use EE in the UK below the roaming rates for Libya etc

Do you still think 💬 I am wrong ❓
Roaming ko, Milaning ni.

The players said they did not have internet access and I believe them over you.

That implies they were not able to latch onto any network provider with internet access in the Al-Abraq airport vicinity when they roamed their phones.

Or

You think they don't know about roaming?

Again. someone brought/provided them with internet access

so

Baba rest, I repeat rest.

Damn. Luka Modric and a younger Johannes Cruyff. Never thought of this resemblance. Doppelgangers of each other no doubt.

Both are midfield geniuses. Both are ballon d'or level MFs. Ahhh no wonder. 😭

First of all, the players are like diplomats. That is what makes the action of Libya ridiculous. Now some of the questions answered here needs clarification from the NFF than just saying it is all the fault of Libyans.

Okay, let us take it that it is all the Libyans fault, are we all saying in such a scenario the NFF has no obligation to TRY to remedy the situation. It is their fault, so we abandon them. Well, the Libyans and other African see it as neglect, poor hospitality and endangerment.

Finito.
Oga, how do want this to be explained to you.
The nff secured a landing permit for their chartered flight to land in uyo which would have settled the whole issue, and for me that's the ideal thing to do. Go through immigration processes at Ph, get back to the plane then off to uyo.

Joao Felix x Kaka. Another Doppelganger match.

Funnily both are also SS/AM profiles. Kaka was an SS and Joao too is currently an SS. Similar skillset profile.

Kaka operated as an attacking "Wingfielder" too. Felix is doing same. Na wa.

Self interrogation and RCA are actually signs of intelligence. Average people usually won’t care about the details and just go with the flow. Smart people on the other hand like details cause they like to stand on fact and altruism.

If there was a contrarian here it would be our UK brother.

I am also not happy with the Libya incident but from facts available, it seems we did something similar but less severe, making them try to retaliate.
From available records the north Africans including Libya are notorious for this kind of antics

Few days ago Benin republic were in Uyo we didn't hear stories

The normal procedure is that you furnish your host about your travelling details were to land.

Benin Republic landed in Uyo.
Libya was expectied to land in Uyo but as usual they kept Nigeria guessing and landed in Port Harcourt. While the Nigeria protocols were waiting for them in Uyo.
thier usual antics.

On the field of play they wasted so much time till Kama fall on them and we scored the winning goal

Again they started crying that the referee stopped the match too early

While what they did should be punished is

1. It was a deliberate act because right from Uyo they have stated trethening to deal with us

2 thier fans openly talked how they will avenge even before we went there

3. The plane carrying our team was delibrately diverted to another destination by force

4.keeping our team for hours at the airport was a VERY direct act of wickedness to make them lose composure before the match.

In summary the should be punished minutes 3 point and 3 goals

Still doesn’t equate to a diplomatic incident. In geopolitics you thread carefully and don’t make stupid assumptions. The incident in Libya may have involved only the FA and not sanctioned by the highest levels of government herself.

Tuggar as I know is not a random political appointee but a career diplomat who has spent his civil service career with the foreign service. He knows better than all of you here. He did the right because his only job here is to direct the embassies to provide assistance. It is the NFF duty to escalate the matter to FIFA.

Y’all want him to damage international relations so that your emotions can be satisfied.
The USMNT comes into Nigeria to play a match, we reroute them to Maiduguri and lock the team with the USSF president and the deputy governor of Alabama in the airport for 15 hours. Also frustrate staffs of the Department of State trying to reach them.

Think on that scenario and imagine the response of the US.

I think I'm just not mentally strong enough to write stories explaining things to an adult like I would to a 5 year old, so those of you who sacrificed mental energy, emotions, etc to unsuccessfully explain this situation to thegoodjoe, please respect to you. Order your best drink at the nearest bar and give the barman my name. Phew!!

By the way, like someone said before, being contrarian doesn't necessarily mean being intelligent. You may as well be silly. There's also a thing some people call intellectual arrogance. I see that displayed here a lot, and some times we all are guilty of it. But to each his own sha. We all have what tickles us and keeps us feeling high.

Hi bro TheGoodJoe. This is a long response so indulge me.

No one is more critical of the NFF than folks on this space. We however know when not to unjustly apportion blame or responsibility where none exist. I probably will agree with you if you stance is how we can better beef up our processes so absolute proof of non culpability exist should issues like this occur in the future, but blaming the NFF?

1. It's easier to believe the NFF commited murder than it is to believe they were inhospitable. Historically, Nigeria is known to treat her visitors well, not even when antics was common place in African football did the NFF resort to this

2. Paradoxical, the Libyans are known for such antics. They experience of 2 Nigerian club side in the last 3 years and several other African countries are enough receipts to reach this conclusion.

3. A host isn't responsible for the visitors schedule. What a host does is request for the visitors itinerary and make plans as required. The NFF had reached out to th Libyan FA to find out what their travel plans were so they could plan effectively, but they decided to play hide and seek with it and only called when they were in the air.

4. The NFF did make arrangements to receive the Libyans and hemp with logistics. The plans however were situated in Uyo not PH. How should the NFF bare responsibility for the Libya's own mistakes here?

5. Getting flight approval for a foreign jet with the bureaucratic bottleneck that exists in Nigeria in a few hours is I'm itself a miracle. The NFF however was able to do that for Libya. That trumps reaching out to the Rivers FA like you suggested. They got then a landing permit and Libya instead decided against flying to "save cost" and insisted they'll rather go by road. How is this again the NFF's fault? The same Libya now complained about "bad road" as one of the trauma they experienced.

6. Why is it difficult for you to believe Libya refused NFF's bus gesture? Really surprised you find that strange. Historically, the north Africans don't trust other parts of Africa and will as much as possible get everything they need themselves. For example, at the AFCON in Cameroon, Morocco came with as much of the supplies they needed. They came with their own Mattress, their own security and even staffed the hotel where they stayed with Moroccans. It is typical north African behaviour

7. Could it also be that Libya planned all of these just to conjure an incident to justify reciprocity? First, a lot of the pictures shared wasn't even in PH. Also they ones they even took was planned. Why sit on the floor to take a picture when the airport is full of sits if you don't have an agenda planned? Why take videos of bad roads like that was specially curated for you guys to experience? Isn't it possible that they could have intentionally flown into PH instead of Uyo, intentionally not carry the NFF along, and intentionally create a scene just to have justification for what they already had planned for Nigeria?

I personally think they NFF should work on making processes with Visitors as digital as possible. Even when calls her made, ensure correspondence happen via mail so you have a paper trail when issues like this come up. This is what I think the NFF should work on,

This is already getting too long. But you have other questions I'll respond as required.

Naija Talents Watch: Ebenezer Harcourt, GK, 15yrs
*Currently 14 but will be 15 by October 21.

Prodigious Ebenezer starred for Sporting Lagos football academy at the 2024 Gothia Cup in Sweden and he was truly a rock at the back leading Sporting lagos to cleansheets across their first 4-5 games before finally conceeding in the semi finals vs fellow Nigerian side, Beyond Limits FC in a 5-4 win.

He is already noted for his excellent shot stopping, penalty stopping and decent game reading skills. Still young and tender, he will serve as second choice to Nathaniel Nwosu at the Wafu B U20 Afcon Qualifying Tournament kicking off tomorrow.

His tournament winning performances at the Gothia Cup 2024 places him as one of the finest GK Prospects in Nigeria in the U20 and U17 categories.

Hoping his development continues nicely.
Nwosu and his cohorts have no business being part of this team. This young Harcourt of a boy has no business being on the bench for Nwosu.
