And Herbert too didn't know that when he made his will and left if all to his children? Don't be silly.

In any case the story of how access was founded is out there and Herbert's father had little to do with it. The founding of the bank was led by Aig Imoukhuede to begin with.

Sigh... I will never understand why people put eyes on the inheritance or estates of others.

My living father knows I don't give 2 shits about his legacy or estates.

I didn't come to this world to do nothing but wait for another to die before my own financial success begins.

How can you be dragging estate and legacy of a dead man with his children?!!

That's weird and even abominable! Una no just get shame at all!

Spits!!! undecided

It's tempting to demonize Wigwe's father but Wigwe no try at all. It's extreme selfishness on his part to will all his wealth to his children alone when his father who brought him into this world, train and nurtured him till he became who he became is still alive along with his siblings.

The poor man should just let it go and pray he doesn't have such a son in next life.

Is it a norm for fathers to inherit their children’s wealth or vice versa?

Okay… we learn everyday.

But for me shaa, my popsman go enjoy while I’m alive and will be glad on his journey home to have had a child as me.

Assuming but not conceding that the father provided Capita, don't you think the son would have considered that and made provisions for him?

Assuming but not conceding that the father provided Capita, don't you think it would have made sense for the old man to respect the wish of his dead son as explicitly stated in the will?

Most importantly, what would the 90 year old man need 20 percentage of his Son' s estate for at this " quarter to grave hour"?

Assuming he is fighting for the siblings of the dead, the siblings should be asked questions about how well they utilised the closeness their brother when he was alive.

A Tony Elumelu sibling that is not trying anything down now should be flogged at the public place

Well, I'm not sure the man is being selfish here. He only wants some for himself and Herbert siblings. The only question on my mind is are the siblings not rich enough to own their own properties?

He is probably thinking of his other children since late Wigwe was the bread winner of the whole family. Unfortunately he can not will anything to his siblings when he had a wife(though late now) and children. Normally a child who has his own family doesn't even add his parents in his will. Especially when it is the prayer 🙏 for parents to go before their children.

His siblings will only continue to benefit from him when alive. Since he is gone, Senior Wigwe is trying to grab somethings for his other siblings. Unfortunately he is doing it the illegal way. Though good intentions but only selfish and at the detriment of the true beneficiaries (the deceased children)
bro, I want to ask something.... what will happen if a man will all his assets to his immediate family, unfortunately he and all his immediate family die in a crash.

Right here again is proof of what I earlier stated today, that most educated people are illiterates. Or how does one explain this comment below.

Do you even know or read anything about the Wigwes before having a ludicrous and most laughable opinion, as commentary on their issues?

For your information, the poor woman you're falsely accusing also died alongside her beloved husband in the plane crash.

You mean the old man didn't enjoy his son's wealth all these years?!!

Why on earth should a father eye or drag a share of his child's wealth?!!

Should a father even outlive his own child, not to speak of putting hands on the late child's properties?!!

Make una dey reason well before spewing such abominable things na.

The late man had the full right to leave all his properties for his offsprings! And no one else! Nothing wrong in that!

All they can do or could have done is making some provisions for the surviving parent or parents...!

But, for an old man that has lived out his days to be insisting or being entitled to a part of a late son's wealth! Come on!!!

Has African culture fallen so badly that we no longer have decency and dignity?!! Haba!!!

he wasn’t expecting to die before his dad. Please note we are assuming. Make nobody con hold me.

You obviously haven’t worked with these big men in Nigeria. Even averagely rich dont empower their siblings like that. They always want to be the main character in the family

Is there anywhere in the African culture where people will their estate to the father in place of his children?

Excuse me!

I don't think he believe he will die before his dad reason he left the dad out of the will, but at least he suppose leave something for the other members of the family, trust me, he might have a Genuine reason for not including other members of the family.

See, no blame the old man

Wigwe na mumu man

The money he made through misfortune of many Nigerians but prefers to will it for his children alone

If care is not taken, those siblings will make the lives of his children miserable

I don't blame the old man too much

Let the lawyer talk to the family & settle everything amicably

Truly, late wigwe owes his family nothing but sometimes we need to apply sense

The idea of a will is that you dont know when you will die. Further it is not for anyone of us to speculate as to what he thought. The will contains the thoughts he intended to be legally binding and thats all that matters.

Secondly, I dont know what stories you are referring to but Aig Imoukhuede wrote a book on how he and the others started Access. Its been out for several years and I think that should be authoritative enough. At least when compared to mere imagination which is what you are relying on.

For the family's asset to be in a care of another person, why not to be in the care of the deceased grandfather? I think the children are above 18 and can choose who will be in care of their father's asset.

He just completed a massive residential building worth billions of naira but never used the building

Life ow vanity

It's good to have money to enjoy life but not amass wealth that people will not benefit from

I regret having to admit this, but the elderly man's actions are concerning.Aware of his limited time, he's seeking ways to empower some of his children through one of his offsprings achievements. This reinforces the notion that parents are often the only ones who genuinely have our best interests at heart.
The irony is stark.Wigwe, before his passing, made provisions for his children,as any responsible parent would. Yet,his father now seeks to deprive Wigwe's children of their rightful inheritance and redirect it to his own children. It's truly disheartening..
Both fathers are looking out for their children.
