Odunayaw:Okay. Me. I am interested in this and I hope we have a more balanced report on it soon. |

tglobal:However, not much diplomatic headway was made during the meeting with the Acting Charge of Affairs, Imad Mohammed Matooq Aboud, as they insisted that it was not under the jurisdiction of Tripoli, which they represented, but that of the Eastern Government in Benghazi. It is clearly in black and white. Amb. Tuggar went for a meeting with the Charge of Affairs that had no jurisdiction on the matter to solve the matter. |

So the Ministry of foreign affairs did not know the government sending in the team from Libya. Well done. Or am I still missing something? |

Again, if it is still not clear to you, I wont be baited into continuing the conversation. Enjoy your bliss in always assuming nothing works in Nigeria. The Libyan national team represents the whole of Libya.....I will end it there... TheGoodJoe: |

TheGoodJoe:The Libyan football federation is under which government? GNU or GNS |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:50pm On Oct 16, 2024 |
Goke7:Contrary to your opinion, it even exposes the NFF Protocol team more. As the crisis started, they should have gotten the Minister up to speed in the event of a crisis. But, the Ministry should have these details too. So I sense lapses from both ends. |

Sugarboyy:Bruh that talk astonish me, I no go lie Still, I can understand cos emotions were high and some people enter panic mode which impedes rationality. In case una no know, the Super Eagles team is Nigeria's biggest brand ambassadors. The team, NFF Chairman, NFF Sec Gen, Parliamentarians, a Deputy Governor, Sports journalists etc are held hostage in an abandoned airport in the middle of no where in a war torn foreign country and the FG/Presidency no go dey involved? Wetin una dey think sef? |

TheGoodJoe:I agree, the minister diverted the Libyan plane to port harcourt |

tglobal:He doesn't know the GNU is the internationally recognised government. If there was some sort of hope for his obstinacy this would have been an interesting engagement |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Odunayaw(m): 8:13pm On Oct 16, 2024 |
The Libyan Civil Aviation Authority based in Tripoli alongside the Libyan Football Federation that is under the jurisdiction of the internationally recognised GNU government cleared the SE to land in Benghazi controlled by the eastern gov aka GNS and worse still diverted the plane to far flung Al Abraq, Derna under same gov. Yet it flies over this guy's head why MFA's first call is to the int'l recognised government who sent our team to somewhere they have no jurisdiction in the first place! I no rate this baba again |

Odunayaw:Just beating around the bush. The Minister went for a diplomatic meeting that made no head way. The call should have gone straight to the Eastern government. He was likely briefed on it and made the right call. It is in black and white. |

I still believe NFF needs to hold a media session on this and really clarify issues. |

kentebemoney:I blame CAF for allowing a country with dual government host international matches. The Eastern government (unrecognised internationally) has jurisdiction over the city and stadium the match was to be played in. The LFF who in this case is the liaison between the two governments decided to deliver us up to the government we have no diplomatic connection with and then stepped back to cry with the GNU that "they don't have powers there". Basically they are implying the GNS (Eastern) acted on their own agenda to divert us and lock us up. Malice. |

Libya football association had all planned out before flying down here What happened to SE in Libya was part of the script Out of desperation to qualify they planned to sabotage their own flight and get themselves stranded so they can execute the final phase of the evil plan in Libya by doing same to SE Believe it or not a north African especially the Muslim can do anything to justify his actions provided he believes he's fighting for what he thinks is right Many questions lurking but shall we get the truth from both sides? If the SE pilot came out to talk (if the footage is authentic) then where is the Libya pilot that flew them to PH There must be recorded air traffic comms where we can get the truth and I believe CAF should go all way to dig out the truth and punish the culprit approximately Libya planned to get points off Nigeria on and off the pitch. Where I see the Libyans shot themselves in the foot was the captain openly boasting of retaliation against SE for the bad treatment they got here and I ask does he think he has the right to do that when CAF is there to complain to. If CAF thought the decision of SE to return home was unfounded the match would have gone ahead without them and Libya would have been awarded 3 points and 3 goals according to the rules. |
