Thank God he survived, omo!
Thankfully, no sharks.

It quickly reminded me of WWII when the Japs torpedoed America's ship and it divided and sank within minutes.
While people went down fast with the ship, the ones remaining were floating in the water.
Omo, the story mad!!!
After some time Sharks came and started circling and taking them out one after the other. The survivors said they heard screams of bones shattering left, right, and centre. They would end up staying in the water for like 5 days before someone flying mistakenly saw them.
Of over a thousand on the ship, only about 300+ survived.

I still remember that the Captain got a lot of stick for not following the maneuver rules and was demoted or something. But the Jap captain came to the US to testify and say that no matter what the US captain did, his torpedo was locked in and was going to strike the ship no matter what.

There should be better methods to rescue someone in a situation like this. This one looks harduous and exhausting for an already exhausted and traumatized individual!

Where there is a will, there is a way. Read a remarkable survival story recently, of two friends lost at sea. After a few weeks, one's spirit broke. Lost hope and just stopped eating. The other did not. He ate raw fish, turtles and drank rain water. The first man died after a few weeks at sea. His friend was rescued four and half years later, iirc.

Are Nigerian leaders ever willing to better the lives of citizens?

A man was miraculously rescued after being lost in the waters of Forcados Offshore, Delta State, for over four hours. The incident occurred when his speedboat capsized at approximately 12:00 PM, leaving him stranded in the ocean.

With quick thinking, the man used his fuel tank as a flotation device to stay buoyant while drifting helplessly in the water. By the time a vessel named MV Omenma, which was making its way after completing a project, spotted him at around 4:25 PM, his body was already white and pale from prolonged exposure. The crew rushed to his rescue.

Thanks to the timely intervention of MV Omenma, the man was pulled to safety and treated for exhaustion.

Wrong.

Swimming has nothing to do with his survival. He simply knew how to float and how to conserve hos energy, and luck came by. I learnt all this at NIMASA training.
