I spoke this into existence - Yoruba man marries Igbo woman 6 years after he hinted at taking a wife from Igboland

A Yoruba man, Ayo, has married an Igbo woman, Chioma, six years after he revealed his intention to take a wife from Igboland.

The property consultant in 2018 wrote:

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, he shared photos and videos from his traditional wedding.

It's his right of choice.

I discovered years back that Name Change statistics from newspaper classified ads show that 9 out of 10 Yoruba men still prefer to get married to Yoruba women (and this is consistent among other ethnicities worldwide who prefer to marry their own kind). Most White women prefer to marry White men and vice versa based on surveys. The remaining 1 in 10 Yoruba men get married to women from other ethnicities (across religious lines and racial groups) within Nigeria and in locations where you have large Yoruba Diaspora populations in the United States, the UK, Canada, Germany, France, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, SA, etc.

The MOST important thing is to sustain whatever cross-cultural marriage you're into and NOT to just fantasize about marrying from a specific ethnic group. Mental fantasies without putting in the work on both sides of a cross-cultural relationship are a recipe for failure because of significant personal and cultural differences. Period.

I still don't get it o, why Yoruba parents shield their women from marrying another tribe especially Igbo men but allow and support their men to marry Igbo women and also from other tribes?

Can Ronu's in the house explain this mystery to me? please.
See it as expanding the empire. Cos the man go still later free to marry as many wife as yoruba, so nothing mega. Na that one children be arole(purebred). If we give you our yoruba daughter as an external, just know that something is very wrong with her. And it's left for you to find out. Exception na Royalty.

You make a good point as it happens, anyone that is still hailing or voting for members of this political class should be ashamed, particularly those that try to infer one of them is a messiah.

You are wrong, I disagree with you totally and your submission doesn't align with the answers that am looking for

Firstly, Igbo women are dominating hence will never accept her Igbo husband to have a second wife talk less of accepting same from a non-Igbo husband e.g a Yoruba man that is married to an Igbo women should just be forgotten by his family people because the women will overtime influence him and their children with her culture the only difference is that the children will have their father's tribal name and Sur-name but will be Igbo at heart

Secondly, Igbo men that I know very well will never jettison an Igbo woman just to opt for a Yourba girl something is wrong with

When it comes to marriage...they sense Oloriburuku from afar and are also conservative hence will never allow their non-Igbo wife influence them or their children with her culture.

Now tell me who's expanding their empire?

I don't know about igbo men in/from the village, but igbo born and bred in this Lagos that insist on marrying yoruba women always end up with the runt of the litter. Confirm oloriburuku that can never snag a quality yoruba man. DYOR.

With what I've seen so far no quality Yoruba men anywhere and you've just confirmed that your women are Oloriburuku's meaning all of you are equal to nothing then.

There are oloriburukus in every pack. Just that igbos have the majority. Very few igbo women are manageable.

Looking at your signature, I can see that you are a colonised slave with limited thinking capacity worshipping a dead jew. Nothing Igbo about that.

It is efulefus like your and your people that bring shame and dishonour to Igbo customs. They insult you online and come and marry your sisters and wear your traditional custom wears without going through the customary rights. But cowardice won't let you face them. Instead you attack your brother for pointing out the obvious.

Like I said, I don't blame you. I only blame the circumstance in which you find yourself: Worshipping foreing gods, fighting your brother, scared of of baseless "roasts on fora", lick the boots of your enemies. Ndo.

Yoruba marrying Ibo woman is common nah. Getting your Ibo ass to convince Yoruba lady to marry you is where the problem is.
