I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla. The fuel economy of the car is rated 28 - 30 mpg combined but mine is consistently getting 18mpg no matter how I drive. AC on or off the same thing. I’ve replaced the MAF sensor, gotten new O2 sensors , air filter, new fuel pump and housing, the tires are on the right air pressure, replaced the fuel injectors, spark plugs and coils yet I’m still getting 18mpg.

I scanned the car and got a p0012 error code, so I cleaned the cam position sensor and replaced my engine oil and oil filter. But still the car consistently does 18mpg😭🤲

Where’s my 10mpg going huh

Fuel estimate for a 20 year old car may not really be comparable to original estimates considering wear and tear.

Is the 18mpg a mix of city and highway driving? That's about 13 liters per 100km.

You don try but one last thing, is your cooling system in factory settings? I mean you still have a thermostat and fan works automatically.

If yes, village people fit don enter the matter o.

18mpg means no catalyst.

Hi guys! Good evening.
Small problem with my Honda Accord 03
The power window button on the driver doesn't roll up or down the rear windows, but it rolls up & down the driver and passenger side.
However, all of the buttons are functional, I can roll up or down the windows with their respective buttons, including the rear windows.
Any help, I'm guessing a fuse problem, but I don't know which fuse.
Thanks

Unless you are a high mileage driver, a two month OCI is way too short.

I have a Honda accord 06 which does not rev pass 3. It jerks each time it gets to 3. Consumes lots of fuel with black smoke from the exhaust. I have taken the car to a technician and he serviced the injectors and changed spark plugs. Still the same issue. What could be the problem?
Check you MAP sensor, that's the culprit. This is located on the throttle body popularly called, ejector mouth.
Once you replace the map sensor, remove one of the battery terminal for few minutes and put it back, it should rev above 3 to 5.
Also, you can check the connector to the MAP sensor, it fails sometimes.
However, you can also scan and share the error codes here....

Its call a mass air flow meter/sensor found inside engine filter hose connecting into the injector mouth. Wetin be map. U fry even type nonsense with confidence.

There's actually a MAP sensor. So just before you call another person ignorant, you should look first.

Apparently the dude also mixed the sensors up. The sensor before the Throttle body is the MAF sensor while that usually on the intake manifold is the MAP sensor.

Its obvious you don't have sense.
Because of the small mechanical knowledge your friend thought you, you think you can come up here to talk to anybody anyhow.

Do you know the difference between the MAP and MAF sensor?
If you don't know, be ready to learn and even if you think you know, be polite to share and teach, not to talk down on anyone.
We are all here to learn and share ideas.

I would appreciate you learn proper manners you fool.

I didn't mix the sensor up.
The same issue happened to my car sometime ago, i even thought it was fuel pump issue not until i scanned and it showed the error.
The MAF sensor is the Air Flow sensor on the air filter box
The map SENSOR is the one on the throttle body.

In this situation her, we are talking about the MAP sensor, not the MAF sensor.

Help pls, my car broke down yesterday on a road. I was just driving and it stopped.

I tried with mechanic to restart but it would crank and not start.

Yesterday, mechanic said change fuel pump, still no start.

Today another mechanic said the green key symbol on the dashboard is not suppose to be blinken, and until it stopped, car would not start.

Like this i Don tire.

Scan your car. Ifrom the description of the symptoms you gave, its the rocker arm sensor or citcuit aka raising sensor that's faulty.

My Bosses in the house.

Currently having a problem with my Avensis 2003. Started with the throttle not giving power that is commensurate to the push on it. And when am climbing a hill it begins to lose speed despite pushing the pedal down to the last while on flat ground it move. Sometimes, it reeves very high especially when I move it after parking under the sun. But after offing and restarting, it becomes normal again.

But recently, like after 3 months of driving since I noticed the stated problems above, throttle pedal doesn't respond at all. So I parked it, only to come the next day to pick it up where I parked and the car won't start after the electrician did all he could he left another came and scanned and the following codes came up

P0136
P0353
P0354
P2102
P2121

Finally, he got it to start but no response from the throttle pedal which was why I parked it.

He said he's taken the ECU for test as well as the pedal sensor and they turned out okay. Been 4 days now. Abeg, I don tire... I need solutions please. Thank you 🙏
It seems no one answered this, I use a Peugeot 607, and it has this exact problem, I have parked it,

However googling those codes, I seem to understand the culprit, ur ignition coils may be bad,
You have to reset your butterfly in your throttle body, as it has probably encountered error,
If you reset and it doesn't work,
U change ur throttle body ignition coil and TPS and see what happens

Have ecm checked, or get a replacement unit to test, get the wirings checked, replace coils and throttle pedal and throttle body (injector mouth).

The light on the P (parking sign) is not on. Get an eletrician to check the fuse box under the steering wheel properly. Surely an eletrician issue.

the guy I brought said the same thing. Said my brain box is gone and I'd need to change it.

What baffles me is that, there's is no prior issue, just stopped on the road and this issue started.

Is that how brain box get spoiled?

Change the oil pressure switch and check if the socket connecting the switch is still working
Changing the oil pressure switch solves the rocker arm problem

Hi everyone, I'm about to get my first car, a 2007 accord.
The one I'm trying to get, the mechanic who was accessing the car for me said the car is very OK but the radiator has been changed and the catalyst has also been removed but I should go on to buy the vehicle.
So I want to ask before I make peyment if it's a wise decision.

PS - The mechanic went with a scanner.

Its a good car and also depends on the price its being sold for.
Radiator change doesnt mean anything, as long as it good and working fine.

You can always buy the catalyst and 02 sensor.
Guess its a Naija used, hence there might be minor things for you to do...
