Realtruth2023:Nope. All Nigerian states are unremarkable. So, what then is the basis for Igbo superiority? The igbos are as shit and corrupt and ineffective as the average NIgerian. |

olyrayy:Dude your concept is so flawed because of your hate and bias for igbos. For a tribe to rise from £20 after the war to where they are is no mean feat. |

Ready2speak:It's always good to respect elders irrespective of their shortcomings. "To err is human, to forgive his divine." General Gowon became a Head of State at a very young age & shortly after led Nigeria in a civil war. To most people he's a hero, though if we analyse the State of the Nation properly, either by commission or omission, he cannot be fully exonerated from some of the problems we face today. The problem then was short-sightedness & falling for the deceit of the Western world esp. the UK. Even the civil war would've been prevented if agreements were respected (Aburi Accord). The major setback of his government was a lack of a sustainable long term economic & development plan when we'd the oil boom. But abrogating a viable regional government to establish the present parasitism federalism that's resulted in the underdevelopment of the country, is the greatest undoing of his government. The good intentions he'd was hijacked by powerful men including retired Generals who're the owners of oil wells & major shareholders of some of the corporations he nationalized. Despite his shortcomings, Nigeria was better during his government & people were happy. Despite the security personnel around him, I don't think he can be comfortable spending a night in his hometown, same with other retired Generals. I believe God has kept him alive for a reason. Unlike OBJ, he's not the type that talks openly on national issues. But I believe he discusses privately with our leaders. We can't afford a second civil war. Leaders must learn from the mistakes of past leaders. Better to jaw-jaw than to war-war. I join our leaders & Nigerians to wish General Gowon a Happy 90th Birthday. |

Realtruth2023:Maybe it means that your £20 narrative isn't really grounded in truth. But that aside, we're talking of government administration. If the igbo people are a special breed destined to save Nigeria, most igbo governors and civil servants won't be quacks. But that isn't the case. Igbo governors steal and embezzle the same wain they do in Osun State. Igbo Civil servants would ask you for bribe the same way they do in Kebbi state. Igbo senators and members of the house of rep join on sharing and embezzling like their counterparts from all other parts of Nigeria. So, what is this superiority you're talking about? |

olyrayy:You tied to sound intelligent but only showed how foolish you are. Igbos were given only £20 in 1970 and by 1979 they had risen from the ashes of the war and were already at the top. The igbo have always produced the best breed of administrators from Sam Mbakwe and M.I Okpara. See you are too young to dwell in hatred, bigotry and tribalism. Do not ruin your life by dwelling in hate and spewing of lies against a set of people. Try and have sense. |

Realtruth2023:What were the administrative achievements of Sam Mbakwe and M.I Okpara? But that is still an aside. Assuming, without conceding, that they were good administrators, they're just two. Exceptions that prove the general trend of incompetence. If the Igbos were an advanced race, all the governors and senators of Igbo extraction would be exceptional. Rather, they're all meh. |

olyrayy:Oga face your calamities and stop trying to paint igbos along with the failure of the Nigerian state from 1970 |

richmond500:LoL most incompetent in what way? Always talking without thinking. If the East is not in Nigeria it'd go far by now, with their strong economy then. Don't forget your Nigeria government is not giving them a level playing ground, inclusive governance, marginalization are what he's talking about, I'm always praying for the day this country will disintegrate I'll call party all day. |

olyrayy:This shows that you're a kid, there's even no one in your region to compare to these people then, infact before and during the civil war the Igbos has best administrators, biggest elite names in the whole country |

olyrayy:Yes I agree with you they also embezzle like others but one thing you must know is the Igbos don't embazzle with reckless abandon like others do |

MrGerald:How is Nigerian govt not giving the east a level playing ground? Are u not receiving allocation? Are u not allowed to vote during elections? Is there anything that other states enjoy yet the east does not? The best governor u people have is Otti, yet when you compare him to governors from other regions, he is just average at best. |

kinguwem:Seems I am lost reading your interjection to my comment. But pray, who is disrespecting who, my self of Dan Agbese? For your information, I am neither a little boy nor a young man. I am also old and so are others who lived through the civil war period. Dan Agbese was dead wrong in his description of Gowon to the young who were not born then or were kids to notice what happened. All I did was state the facts of the blunder Gowon committed that plunged the nation into avoidable war which, thank God you agreed with it and even made more starling points in pointing out the failures of his government to reintegrate the socalled region defeated by the federal side and the utter planlessness in using the accrued funds judiciously for long term development. Let me point just one area of monumental failure. After the war, his government conducted census and the result was that Nigeria was 60 million. How many schools did he build, primary, secondary and university for the 60 million population? |

richmond500:How did you come to conclusion is Otti? Is he doing better than Ebonyi or Enugu, or which other governor/s you think performing better from other region? Again, how many federal government institutions, agency or facilitated companies they positioned in the East? These and many more are the reason this country is not going the way it should, but I don't care. |
