ModJ1:First thing is you’ll need competent hands to do a parasitic drain on the car to tell what is causing the drain Secondly can you share vin info of the said vehicle , like I hope it wasn’t flooded As for the vibration a lot of things could cause that probably a worn cv axle physical inspection needed for this |

Louiscars:These was what they said; ""Good afternoon Mr Henry, Our engineers discovered that the ticking noise coming from the throttle body is due to the faulty old throttle body that has affected the IC in the engine control unit....the engine control unit has to be replaced and programmed, also with the communication line called CANBUS.... The brake wear sign displaying is the brake pad "sensors" that are faulty, the noise noticed while driving is from the front hub. |

Mechanic changed my toyota corolla 2005 crankshaft and since then the engine sounds like that of a grinding machine. I asked him why the sudden change in sound and his replay was that the engine needs to run before the sound will stop and this is the 3rd week now, still thesame sound. Any solution? |

Zendizel:Grinding Noise, Corolla 1zz engine palava. Questions 1. Since the grinding noise is new to you, what was the original reason for replacing the crankshaft? 2. While he was replacing the crankshaft, did he open the top cylinder. Meaning did he separate the top cylinder from the engine block? If you are not tech savvy, the easiest way to know is to try to remember whether he mentioned anything that has to do with "gasket". Answering these questions correctly is very essential in the quality and effectiveness of the remote assistance you will receive from the many experts on this platform. #AutoJando |

Hello house. My 2003 Matrix has P0450 and P0451 codes. I scanned after I noticed that my fuel consumption is 12-13 MPG, when it should be around 21-22MGP. I've checked live data for my car, oxygen sensors are fine, ignition timing is within spec, MAF is fine, basically all the sensors surrounding fuel consumption are fine. My fans are factory setting and my thermostat is present. I don't know what else to check, as I'm not sure these two codes can be responsible for such a difference in MPG. Please any help will be appreciated. |

Hi guys.. not too long ago, My friend was involved in a nasty accident that damaged the front badly. He has been fixing it since then and I've been helping put too. I felt the panel beater and mechanic must have sold off some useful part.. please what are those parts you think might have still be useful in an accident but must have been sold off. Or basically, what are those parts you think I am supposed to ask him for to hand over to me. PS: They claimed AC system was totally destroyed too. I'll appreciate if you can list all I'm supposed to retrieve. I don't mind sending like 5k to anyone that can help me list them Picture 1 is a picture of the accident. Picture 2 shows the repair.

Greetings to all the great engineers in the house, I have a toyota matrix 2005 with P0012 code(timing over retarded intake cam) I have serviced the vvti solenoid but the code came back. Engine has been opened by previous user. I experience hard starting once the engine is cold also poor mpg. I need a competent mechanic to help me open the engine to check if the timing is right before looking out for other things. Or what is the best way to tackle this issue. |
| Re: Tell Us Your Car Faults. Let's Assess And Fix Them by AutoJando(m): 8:32pm On Nov 01, 2024 |
bacco2000:Aside from wrong/improper timing, it could also be that the camshaft phasor has been welded permanently with the camshaft. It could even be due to dirty oil or blocked oil fees orifice in the valvetrain, who knows. It will definitely need physical assessment. Is there grinding noise at the top of the engine? #AutoJando |
| Re: Tell Us Your Car Faults. Let's Assess And Fix Them by AutoJando(m): 8:48pm On Nov 01, 2024 |
KingAzubuike: For starters, it should be on the record that your panel beater did a terrific job realigning the front fascia of that car. It is left for painter to perfect the job. Coming back to missing parts, you can't just assume that things are missing without knowing what was there. The AC system, yes. Starting from the condenser/drier assembly, the radiator is definitely shot, the cooling fan + shroud + expansion tank/reservoir. These things will definitely need replacing. In addition, depending on the depth of the impact, you may even need to replace some deformed/broken engine seats. #AutoJando |

| Re: Tell Us Your Car Faults. Let's Assess And Fix Them by AutoJando(m): 10:29pm On Nov 01, 2024 |
KingAzubuike: I meant that he did a good job. I see all the body lines have been restored to factory, that's quite difficult to achieve with locally accidented cars. If the painter is good, the car will come out clean after painting. #AutoJando |

AutoJando:He said the crankshaft has been cut reduced to the last size so I should get it replaced and I wasn't there when he was replacing the crankshaft. |
