No crime just make sure everything about the offer is well documented as it is sounding almost like a very small organization. Please don't show any form of depression.

Back in the days in banking, people go and come back for higher levels so no big deal.

Nothing wrong with going back if the terms and conditions are OK with u and ur career development to move forward later.

Why are you here asking opinions from people that won’t help pay your bills?? Don’t take it o, you hear! Just use your pride, shebi it’s also called ego, and buy provisions in the market after!

My brother, in Nigeria once you resign, move on.
If they cajole you to stay, they just want you to lose your new job. Two or three months on, they get someone to understudy whatever makes you tick. Thereafter, they will ditch you.
In your own case, you left 4 years ago. Ask yourself did the company fold up after you left? Has your former position been vacant? Except you a factory operative, truck driver or key machine operator or mechanic, you are advised to move forward.

Well not in all cases though. When I wanted to leave my current job, the management got to know through the new company while they were checking my profile. The Director got to know just a day before I submitted my resignation letter and called me to know why. I talked about the salary of my new found job and they promised to scale up. I later ignored the new job but my salary was lifted to the same amount I was being offered along with promotion. It's been 6months now.

It is not always good. But if you don't have any choice, just go back. Hunger dey for the country. Unemployment in Nigeria can drive one into depression. When you get back, take on more challenging roles, humble yourself and maintain good relationships with colleagues and management. Lots of gossips will definitely swirl around about your return but be at peace with everyone and keep your head held high and be on the look out for a better opportunity outside.

Survival first ... As long as you are in good terms.. and you are of value to them , just go back and get back on your jet.

Not bad, infact my place work prefer to employ those that has worked there before cos it means they ll spend less time and resources on training you provided you didn’t burn the bridges when you left
