affoncad:Its not the agent, its on the student ocas portal as "Paid", payment receipt and pal was generated via the ocas portal by the student, a mail has been sent to the school though, to confirm if its a grant or a scholarship, before proceeding to apply for visa. |

techgen:Thank you bro. I have been schooling after every 3 years. Graduated 2014, 2nd Diploma in 17-2018, Bsc in 2022-2024. So studying has always been constant. Also the SOP has clickable subheadings. But the length tho. I guess too long |

Good day gurus I want to ask a question guys, now regarding who to notarize, if one's sponsor/Donor can't meet with a lawyer for Notarization ,can the Benefactor / Donee do the notarization himself? Note: that both parties don't live in the same country. Pls your input is needed regarding this matter ASAP . |

resilience001:VO that have hundreds of application to treat will read 29 pages SOP by a single applicant? Rewrite your SOP, make it short and be straightforward. Those guys no get time abeg |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by oluayebenz: 6:53pm On Oct 26, 2024 |
JMG12:Someone made a mistake by ommiting a very vital information and you are advising of appeal? Way forward is to reapply and give a good reason why he/she does not declare such information |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 7:19pm On Oct 26, 2024 |
The same reason he can give, but if the appeal is not considered he can apply, appeal doesn't cost anything oluayebenz: |

My SOP was 33 pages long. My essay alone in my SOP was 8 pages long. I was told to reduce it, but I didn't. There's not a specific rule book to this. oluayebenz: |

I’m not really sure, if Clickable subheading is the right thing to do…since most VO use AI software like chimook 3+. Above all…do what you think is right after your due diligence research. All the best to us all!!! resilience001: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by oluayebenz: 11:44pm On Oct 26, 2024 |
MarksmanD:And you think VO will take their time reading 33 pages SOP? SOP is not even a requirement, many students applied without it and still get their visas. You already qualified for study permit, reason why you got it, forget SOP. Meanwhile SOP is still very important o but not a requirement |

Hello Everyone, I recently got admitted into a post graduate diploma program in IT with a concentration in Business Analysis at NBCC. I hold the Nigeria certificate in Education (Economics/ geography) which was obtained in 2015. Since then, I have been working as a teacher teaching Business studies and ICT in a private school. I want to pivot into IT as I believe that’s the future. My sponsor will be my brother but I’m unsure how to properly package my application. I have no travel experience, I’m 29 and this will be my first time applying for a visa to any country. Additional my school require a non refundable deposit of $1500 cad which I’m not sure of paying due to Visa uncertainty. Please advise me. |

resilience001:Hello. We have a somewhat similar profile. I also graduate in 2015. Can you share if you applied for a masters or PGD program? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by MarksmanD: 7:26am On Oct 27, 2024 |
If you're not willing to pay 1,500 CAD non refundable as deposit, then you're not ready to apply for a visa. I once lost 4k USD non refundable after a visa rejection and I didn't die. People have lost more. When you have made up your mind to lose 1,500 CAD, then you can come here for advice on your study visa application. Gloriousangel: |

MarksmanD:This is kinda harsh. You could have worded this better. 1.7M is a lot of more to over 90% of Nigerians. Message well received tho. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by flowmama: 7:59am On Oct 27, 2024 |
Gloriousangel:Try another school that has a refundable policy or can allow deferring in case you get a denial. Also, with the new IRCC policy not sure Business Analysis is amongst those that can qualify for PGWP. Try something more tech and see a better school that can fit your profile. All the best |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Gloriousangel: 8:24am On Oct 27, 2024 |
flowmama:Thank you for your message. I’m not sure any school has refundable deposit nowadays. The course qualifies for 3years pgwp. It’s in tech! Information Technology with a concentration in Business analysis and business analysis are in the shortage list. |

In most cases low opening balance is a red flag. Chinook will flag it to the officer Kelvinekpos: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Kurukuru: 11:53am On Oct 27, 2024 |
With this type of reason, you risk another refusal if you reapply no matter the rewording of your SOP resilience001: |

resilience001:But you haven't work as a Nurse since 2015,you have gaps in between work and studying. Even the VO got it wrong ,stated that you held same position over 9years,unless you stated that you have been working as a nursing officer since 2015. That is from 2015 to 2024 working as a nursing officer, ignoring the fact that you studied for 2years graduated in 2024 in Uk.so how is 2years study in the UK counted as work history when you was a student. If the VO meant that you are a nursing officer held that position for over 9years after first diploma and after second diploma, you still remain a nursing officer same position and after Bsc same position as a nursing officer, it means after this course in canada, your position will not change ,so it will have no impact in your position and career progression. |

odilibe:Let me explain. I was working and studying part time whole time. Now I have my own healthcare company since 2022. Im planning to study leadership and management in healthcare, so I can manage my healthcare company effectively, and also take on leadership roles in other employment, since I now have bsc which makes me partially qualified for leadership roles. 2 years while I was studying in the UK, was also used setting up my company. Na money from business I take do BSc. So yes, I have worked actively as a nursing officer in different departments. |
