Clout chaser!

It's quite misleading to claim that someone earning a salary between 300k and 500k is poor.

Such statements seem designed to sensationalize issues and undermine the government's efforts.

While we acknowledge the economic challenges, a salary in that range can indeed provide a decent standard of living in Lagos or elsewhere in Nigeria.

It's essential to recognize the nuances of financial stability rather than reduce it to simplistic notions of wealth and poverty.

It's not misleading. That's the reality of the Nigerian economy today. A family earning less than N500k (which is less than $300) per month is considered poor by today's economic matrix.
Except you have no children or other defendants, live in a single bedroom apartment in a poor neighbourhood, eat very poor quality food, no vehicle or generator, etc., you quality of life would be quite low.
When you consider the average cost of feeding an average family of 5, paying house rent for 2 bedroom flat in a fairly good neighbourhood, paying school fees for 2 or 3 children quarterly, paying for band A electricity or running a generator a few hours a day, maintaining just one vehicle, transporting to and fro from work or business, you will realise that 500k per month would not just be ebough.
Such a person is desperately and clinically poverty stricken.

Just to rephrase.. salary of 300k - 500k.. is just $175 - $195 in one month.. that is what people earn casually in one day in other decent climes.. doing blue-collar jobs not even white-collar jobs..

That guy speaking grammar above is a clown.. he doesn't deserve my quote.

According to a research by one institute in Lagos, only about 4% of Nigerians earn 200k and above. about 16% earn 100k - 200k.. 17% earn 50k and below. Over 20% earns nothing

It's a nation of highly impoverished populace.

Calling it clout chasing shows you are atone with the current reality 500k is not enough for someone with family of 4 not to talk about someone with large family.

How much is full tank of fuel? How much is a bag of rice?

Nobody is trolling you. We see your stupid posts, we point it out. Finish!

It's unfortunate that no one engages you seriously. I have never seen sensible, reasonable folks on this forum reply or engage you.

Anytime they reply you, the aim is to denigrate you and I don't blame them.
Have you met you at all? 😂 Helinues, you are a very nasty, tribal and partisan creature.
No insults intended, its just the truth.

My advise? Get off nairaland for at least a month and reevaluate your life. This is NOT life you are living to be honest. You are a very pathetic fellow and I really feel for your family.

But what is even more worrying to me is your ability to find a job. Even if a job suddenly becomes available, I seriously doubt your competence.

Your command of the English language and your logical skills are grossly deficient.
I doubt you went to school and even if you did, it's obvious to the blind you came out with a very bad result.

To be honest, I doubt there is any tangible thing you can put on a CV and any CV you manage to scrounge together would be worthy enough ONLY for wrapping Akara or fried yam/plantain.

Check the title of this thread to get an understanding of the subject matter. You are not considered a rich person or middle class by international classification of those terms if you are earning less than 500k in Naira.
When we consider you rich you are assumed to own and drive a car at least, live in low or medium density neighbourhood like Ajah, lekki, surulere, Ikeja or at least Festac. Now how much do you think a decent 3 bedroom apartment with running water, good roads and electricity in Lekki, Ajah or Ikeja cost? Your 500k would barely pay for 1month. How much will you use to fill your tank? How much do you think a decent school in those areas cost?

Exactky! A man earning 500k WILL pack out of his 3 bedroom flat with his wife and 3 kids and move to a self contained at ajegunle or mushin to cut cost and manage his life.

Has he gotten poorer or richer? Has he moved up in life or moved lower? 😂

That's why I asked you to look at the title of the thread before commenting. No one is saying many Nigerians are not living on minimum wage. The issue is at which income level one can be considered rich.

I didn't insult you. I only told you the truth. You need to reevaluate your life my brother.

Honestly, you may be intelligent but I think maybe life's circumstances didn't treat you well.

Your response to it should be to do better with your life and not turn to this tribal, partisan misfit you currently are.

I think you have potential but you must be made aware of your deficiencies.

You are the most denigrated nairalander on this forum BACK TO BACK.

Nobody called meeting on your head and decided to troll or insult you ceaselessly. Far from it. Nobody has such time but most nairalanders will disagree on many things but will ARE ALWAYS GUARANTEED TO AGREE that you are a societal misfit.

I'm sorry, this may be harsh and MAY EARN ME A BLOCK/BAN from an equally misguided moderator but you need to be told the truth ogbeni. .. Get a life! It's not late to. Cheers! 🙏🏾
