Well deserved award for Rodri. I'm a real Madrid fan and I can tell you that I wouldn't have put Vini in the top 5 for the award. His performances are erratic. He's awesome in a particular game and next games he's completely useless. That's not a balon dor material. Consistency is key. He dribbles aimlessly most times, and gives possession to opponents easily and has negative character on the pitch. I'd rather have loved Dani Carvajal as a better competitor to Rodri. The reason why Messi and Ronaldo won these awards year in year out is because they were very consistent all through and not just flash in the pan performances.
