If you don’t have two step verification activated on your what’s app by now, I will be super surprised , this is first thing you do right now if you are here , reading this and haven’t done that , it save you from plenty stories

I believe you got a call from someone asking you to send them the code you just received, and you did.

The hacker is currently trying to activate two-steps verification. If he succeeds you'll have to wait for a week. For now, try to log in again, I believe you can still reclaim it.

Or call your contacts and ask them to report your number to whatsapp. Whatsapp will block you for 24hrs, after that, you can try login in

Note: Only attempt the second method, if the hacker has successfully activated the two-steps verification

If you activated two-step verification, the hacker would not have access to the account unless your phone was stolen and the hacker had access to the phone, SIM, and email address, which, according to WhatsApp, are the avenues the hacker can use to access your account.

The more i tried to reset code, the more whatsapp kept preventing me me from doing so untill I was told I could only reset the whatsapp code in the next one month. That is how i switched fully to another line.
For the hacking to be possible, it is obvious the sim was cloned and it got the code to log me out of my device and into his device. The guy used the opportunity to try and scam alot of my contacts but glad no one fell.
E no go better for 9mobile and for the hacker, your fall is coming soon.

It is impossible for a whatssap to be hacked if you had not given your verification code in error.

If you feel otherwise, educate me please.

Can a locked sim be clone as well?

My brother, the first thing to do (including when people lose their phone) is to call telecom network and get your SIM blocked asap.

Next switch to a new number and update all your contacts about the ongoing scam. Then contact Google to recover your email. They'll block him from everywhere.

Gmail will ask you certain security questions if you got like 70%, they'll be convinced. But always, always block your Sim card first. Some people lose their phones and they start rushing to the bank. No, block your Sim card asap.

It becomes easier if you activated a recovery email id for your primary email and if you use authenticator (rather than phone number) for your 2-way authentication process

Also going forward l, beyond passwording your phone, also password your Sim, WhatsApp, contacts, bank apps etc. Mounting several gates makes it difficult for scammers. Additionally always use long passwords (shorter ones are easier to hack) and use lots of special characters. Of course, make it unpredictable.

Since u are on 2 step... it shouldnt be easy to hack
