Ibo population in the north never recovered after the civil war. In the SS, Ibo population was even worse hit owing to the abandoned property saga and anti Ibo sentiments from the indigenes over the brutal occupation of their lands by Biafran forces and civilians.

Rather, the SW was the only region that appeared more accommodating to the post war Ibos and that hasn't changed till tomorrow.
