I think liberals are doing what liberals do.
They are looking at this episode outside a larger context as it is a one off.
Trump uses these types of violent rhetoric to normalize that violence onto his detractors.
He first said that Liz Cheney should face a televised military tribunal because she was a Traitor.
What happens to traitors?
Now this.
And by doing so, Normalize Trump's violent rhetoric once again.

Liberals also want to see it as some larger anti-war view.
But, Trump has some of the biggest warmongers as supporters.
Tom Cotton, Mike Pompeo, etc. etc.
When did he say something similar to them?
Even Trump arguing Israel should bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. What would ensue then?
Never mind the utter ridiculousness that it was Republicans who got us into most of our wars.

To be a Trumper, like Raumdeuter, you have to love cognitive dissonance and be willing at a moment to do 180 flips on everything you said you believed.

1.) The people that said he directly said he wanted people to shoot her.
2.) The people who said that his continued use of violent rhetoric against his opponents serves to normalize violence against them.

I can agree with you as to 1 that he didn't directly say that.

But I also think his comments were purposeful in order to ferment hate against her and normalize violence against her .
I don't think for 1 second he was really trying to make a political argument against people who want to fight wars. As he could have made that argument with people who he intends to put in his administration if he wins.
It's also an argument Dems have made in the past without the same violent imagery while being called Doves by the same people who support him now.
He singled her out for her opposition to him.

That speaks a lot about the demented state of the human mind in today's world.

So Harris having a lead in Iowa is causing a tornado in the rapist trump's campaign. She's only behind in Arizona but polls don't vote.

And he just had another disastrous rally. From the data now, the rapist trump is cooked.
