3. Cement/sand ratio, low sand quality,

The house is sinking,so the structure is bending , ihe foundation is weak due to aging or structural defect,

Mix cement and sand, then fill it up

It is the foundation. Might there was a sort of pit or muddy portion where the foundation is resting on.

You may need to crack it from top to bottom and apply well mixed concrete. Let a good Mason handle it

PROLEM: sand and cement wasn't mixed together properly before plastering the edge/ building

SOLUTIONS: get some quantity of sand and cement with water. Mix together properly and plaster the cracked area

U can do this yourself without making budget for labourer. Any manson u get for the little job will charge you as high as ten times the initial bill

As a young boy in 1999 my pops had a block industry and he make 30 to 40 blocks with 1 bag of cement many high brow schools and hotels in lagos patronised my dad then...but these days I shock when I see ppl running 55 blocks for 1 bag of cement

The house is sinking as a result of bad foundation.

Instead of maximum of 33 blocks..same mistakes people are doing..they will run to buy metcopo roofing not knowing that if the wood work is not done by professional you will suffer later...just go for long span roofing

This is caused by subsidence. The ground underneath your foundation is unstable and so your house is 'sinking' into it in an uniform manner. It's fixable but a bit expensive.

All these collapsing of houses, usually start with cracks.

This is caused as a result of building settlement in walls and mostly referred to as differential settlement.

There is an error in construction right from the foundation formation, including the materials used for construction.

I resigned..stupid ippis...I bought a laptop then I started keyboarding..first it was hell for seven months but when I received my first steam card of more than 500 dolls I realised there is hope

Just get a competent bricklayer to stitch the wall. Don't just fill will only mortar; it will open again.

In my opinion, move out from the building.

The foundation of that building is not strong.

The building might collapse some day. The house needs to be demolished.

Cause of crack could be as a result of a differential settlement of the soil from the foundation level, lack of columns at the angles to help in the weight bearing capacity of the superstructure, Poor mixture ratios of your cement,sand and granite/gravel.

Temporary solution... Break the crack area from top to the bottom, get a 12mm reinforcement iron the length of the structure, get another 12mm cut to size of about 9inch(about 10 pieces of this length), Get your proper concrete mix.

Break the crack area at about 10inch width, place the long reinforcement rod vertically inside the wall while you place the cut to size rods horizontally at intervals from top to the floor, fill in the openings with your concrete mix and allow to cure.

This is really dangerous especially for the fact that you hear sand particles falling every 30mins. Bro, the house is about to collapse. Move out first and save yourself before thinking of saving the house.
